lrrps, I too have the HR poly buzzer and it does sound like you have a bad piezo. Either that or your Trex sounds pretty impressive. HeHe!

Tolla,
But your normal mode is really the Idle up settings right? And if you hadn't spun the switch around you would really be starting in the Idle up mode which has 0,50 and the preset 100%
So if we don't rotate the idle up switch around on the DX6 we would start in Idle up (0,50. preset 100) and switch to normal mode (80,80,80) with the flat throttle curve.
My ESC does a slow start in idle up (with a flat curve on the DX7) if I just switch from normal to idle up with the throttle all the way down (motor off). And it does slow start in normal mode 0.80.80.80.80. It's a feature of the ESC as far as I know. That's strange that yours slow starts in normal mode but not idle up.

I think i follow you now.
I start up ( plug the batteryin) in NORMAL mode, then take off in NORMAL mode. Once I'm in the air I flip over to Idle-Up and fly. That way the rotors have some headspeed up before you go to Idle-up which generally has a higher headspeed at that point.
Basically:
Throttle hold on
in NORMAL mode
left stick all the way down (0% throttle)
plug in battery
throttle hold off
take off
in flight switch over to idle-up.
If you are in idle-up and then switch the throttle hold off, your motor will go to 81-86% ( in my case) instantly even with the soft start of the ESC on. this will eventually cost you a main gear.

Why don't you try to hammer them to get them straight, that can save you some $$.
I started doing that on my bent shafts but haven't tested them yet.

I replace my feathering shaft an main shaft as a matter of course whenever the blades touch the ground. I use woodies and they break fairly easily and the feathering and main shafts will always be out of true, even when just brushing the ground.I used to check them but they were always bent so I don't even bother to check them anymore, I just put on new ones.

I have successfully put everything together on my 450SE v2. After i done with the settings, i'll be bringing it out for the first maiden flight.
By the way my friend lent me his JR Tx charger and it's the same as the Dx7 charger. The output does state 11.6V 50mA as opposed to 11.6V 110mA on my Dx7 charger. So i can finally setup my Trex now.

Here are some low price carbon blades
http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servlet...-shogun/Detail
These are 315mm, but a few weeks ago I saw they had 325's for only a dollar more. I couldn't find them on the site this morning but you could email customer service.

JD,
Went to the field this morning.. kinda early flight around 6am to get very calm winds.. It was really a nice day.. had some flights. nothing fancy.. just simple flights and test. The new CopterX does hold okay. it seems to be good and with the CF blades it does fly really good. the GY401 was holding well had little wag at idle up but have tuned it clean. It was flying okay..
had some videos but have not edited it yet... have you seen a heli walking? This is what I have been practicing on the sims.. but is really hard to control, some of the guys have done it. Its kinda funny.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCp0QGwvFtg

Soneebee,
that vid was funny.
What carbon blades are you using on the Copter X now, aftermarket 325 carbon fiber blades?. What are the ones the copter X comes with made of? They look more like a black fiberglass.

The one I am using are the 325 carbonhobby blades. this are better than the stock black blades.. better, lighter and faster response.. the black ones that came with the CopterX are Glass fiber blades. its similar to CF but with glass fiber weaving used.. but resin is almost the same so its sturdy, but a little heavier...
yup the vid was kinda funny.. like the heli was begging.. there were already 3 guys that been doing it and had taught us the trick.. but have had a hard time perfecting it on the Sim... kind need more time to get it to work.. its hard to get the rudder and cyclic controls to hold.. a small mistake and the blades will hit the ground...

so do you guys ever fly your sims online? I use G3.5 and fly in multiplayer all the time. It would be fun to do a session together!

ok, so how many guys run G3.5? I host sessions under the name Palouse 3D. When we figure out the best day and time, I'll host it under aerodave. So if you want, suggest what day and time might work for you. We'll pick the most convenient one and I'll host the session.

Army copter,
I ordered 4 sets of the CNChelicopter.com (XMseller) carbon blades. I went to the link you posted and emailed them like you said and they sent me a link to the 325mm blades.
They came to about $28.00 a piece grand total after tax and shipping
thanks
Now to wait 1 to two weeks. I have a set of the original yellow blades in the mean time.
thanks for your help to soneebee.

The blades look pretty nice. cflight has a set that I've seen. They were still in the package so I'm not sure how they'll perform. Let us know, maybe I'll have to grab a set myself. My preference has been the wooden ones as they are better in a crash, but as I get better, I'd like to mount some CF blades.

Im good most anytime or date.......but lets see what the other guys have to say. I recieved my V blades last week for my SE , Wish I had gotten them long ago. Though I am sticking to the 325 woddies on my blinged out SA (beater heli). Im havent gotten around to putting on that v2 head on my SE when I do It's gonna be like a new V2 without the V2 frame.
