Default XP6102 Setup

I am having programming difficulty with the XP6102 and my Trex. When I switch the GEAR switch on all three servos move to a new position far from neutral. I have the Throttle Cut inhibited as well as Throttle Hold. MX1 and MX2 are set to 0%. The GEAR switch does cause the GY401 to turn the Auto Hold feature on and off. Any ideas why the three servos change position?

It sounds like your switch assignment is not quite right. I think you might have common dual rates, and gear assigned to the same switch.

Start with the transmitter off. Press and hold the down button (to the left of the screen) and the select button at the same time, while you switch on the transmitter. From there you are able to choose the model number, set the modulation type etc. Go to the switch configuration screen, and make sure it's set up correctly.

On my Tx, I have D/R set to COM AILE, which uses the right switch (alie d/r) to control dual rates. For GEAR, I have it set to ELEV D/R which makes the "elev d/r" switch on the left, control the gyro setting. Finally, I have the FL-M (flight mode) set to LEFT SW which places the control of my flight mode on the top left switch.

That info helped greatly, Thank you. The GY401 is blinking slowly in either position of the ELEV D/R switch. Any idea why?
What gain setting do you use for the Gyro?

Hoaa,

I would check to see what switch is controlling the gyro "Gear" function. That's the switch you need to flip to change from head holding to non-head holding mode. If your 401 is blinking, then headholding is off.

Once this is done, I would start with a gyro gain of about 60 and then dial down (or up) to keep that tail rock solid. You'll find that when you activate the GEAR switch (and headholding is off) the "GEAR" setting will change to the negative number (-100 for example) and then when you switch it back to headholding mode it'll be in the positive direction. You should change the setting for the headholding mode (and then for the non-headholding mode if desired). I think the default switch for the 6102 is the left upper switch.

I think that'll help.

Joe,Thank you for the tips. I have the Gear on the upper left switch. The LED on the gyro does not react to TX switch commands. The LED blinks about once every two seconds regardless of setting of gyro gain. I will remove it and get a paint job on the creature. The last problem involved thr masthead. It's built correctly, and checks out statically, but as headspeed passes a high sounding level it just makes a good cooling fan.
Roland.
