Default haywire tail rotor

i have a trex 450se i am using a futaba 190 gyro that does not seem to do anything. once enough rpm is reached to hover the tail lets loose and spins out of control. the sensitivity on the gyro has been adjusted from low to high as well as my gyro setting in the radio.

thanks
chris

Chris:

Too many details are left out. For starters--Does the tail respond properly when the Heli is rotated by hand? Is the pitch change in the proper direction? Is the tail rotor rotation direction correct? Is the tail servo plugged in? re the servo & Gygo good, etc. etc. etc.....

Realistically, got to give as much data as you can for someone to help.

Lloyd

the controls are proper and the gyro response is in thew proper direction it!QUOT!s as if the gyro is to weak or looses effectiveness at higher rpm

Any binding in the tail pitch slider? I had a mild problem with that before. Your POSITIVE that SERVO DIRECTION is correct? IT's all I can think of, thats very odd that your tail just spins like that if everything is correct. OH! What about belt tension? It's not skipping right?

I don't think so. So lemme try to get this straight. Your tail doesn't spin UNTIL you leave the ground? Does it slowly pick up with head speed? Does it just come out of no where? Is there wobbling or "wagging" before the tail spins? Give us a list of events leading to the tail spin (if there are any more to be added). I think the 190 should at the very least work OK, but other wise I'm stumped unless you've got more detail.

there a little push to start spinning on throttle up but as soon as i approach lift off the tail just lets go i have no more adjustment left on my tail rotor slider. the trim and the stick are cranked to their limits as well. and yes a little wagging is present just before it lets loos

Wow....how odd is that?.....
Ok ummmm........well lemme see if I can shoot off more possible explanations....
Revo Mixing???
Is the tail servo strong enough? What're you using as a tail servo??? Not digital is it? I don't think the 190 is compatible with digitals.
Errrr, have you tried reversing the servo just for the heck of it to see if it helped? (Can you tell I'm totally out of ideas???)
Once again, all links are secure and in place? What about tail servo centering? Is it centered?
Ummm, focus on the tail servo......What type is it? Is it strong enough? Quick enough? None of it's gears are stripped??? It's not just old or burnt out???
Try just moving the tail servo without throttle and see how it does. Try all that, hopefuly something will come up!

I reverse the gyro and the tail servo till i get the right combo. I also have the servo lock out in full deflection sometimes and i have to depower the heli.

What if you bypass the gyro completely by plugging the servo directly into the receiver? If you spin up 'carefully', does it hold, or start to break loose at take-off speed?

Seems to me the gyro needs to be reversed... classic symptoms. Make sure you try ONLY reversing the gyro then you can try to reverse both. You may also need to reverse in the radio and not the gyro or vice versa... sometimes there seems to be no ryme nor reason for what needs to be reversed gyro servo both...
