Well that was a surprise and the heli your plastering all over the forums on behalf of your shop is metal at 3 times the cost as well.
If your continually going to tote your shop on the forums become a site sponsor [sm=wink_smile.gif]

Back onto subject
Given that you seem to stock Esky and Walkera amongst other brands and they have alot of plastic heads and tails are they bad too ?

Please be a little more specific as to why its a bad heli with some facts to back it up.

It's been discussed at great length elsewhere and the consensus would appear to be it'll never be a 3D master, but given the electronics people use to build a cheap heli, it was never going to be anyway but should be fine for a little sport flying etc. Plus it's not going to cost the earth to upgrade it.

dude7422 dont take this as having a go fella but do you actually fly 3D? Change the blades and it'll probably be OK for a bit of inverted hovering beyond that and its going to cost for decent servos and a gyro and by then you may as well buy a Trex 250 SE

How many people on the forums are really good 3D fliers? It seems to me most just are average fliers who just love to fly and push their own envelope. And they also love to have bigger and bigger fleets. At least that is what I am and most of the people I talk too on here do. So how is a little 250 heli that can do some good forward flight a bad heli? I know there are better helis but not for 50 bucks. Just my 2 cents.

Well if it's anything like the Gaui clone (Firefox) the plastic was brittle, the bearings were no good, and the little bit of metel was soft. Seriously, it was like the olden days of helis where you put it up and bits flew off and it fell out of the sky. Furthermore, for not that much more you can get a bettler metal CF clone, which are okay.

I have a real Trex and a clone. The clone originally was as good as the Trex but it didn't last, it wore out a lot faster and I have had to replace 50% or more with Align parts and the head is still very loose and sloppy.

Your best bet is still the real deal.

Personally, however, I prefer the Gaui 200 over the Trex.

I dont know if you guys have seen a Trex t250 but most of them are flying head speeds close to or at 3000. I dont think that the plastic head will take that.

I'm using the stock electronics that came with my trex250 super combo.   align 3400kv brushless with 15T, align 15a esc,  align 850mah 30C 3s lipo.   4500rpm is with the 15T,  its probably around 4750rpm~ now since i've installed the 16T.   it sounds very busy.

Well I just ordered this yesterday from Xheli.com. Its the EXI 250 and from what I read it 99% compatible with the Trex 250. Frame layout seems spot on to the Trex and I was told they just use a different material. I myself can't afford a Trex kit/combo so I went with this set-up. I did order the Align 250SP motor and DS420 tail servo. For now I'm going to run my TowerPro 9g servo for cyclic untill I can upgrade to the DS410's. ESC is a HobbyWing and lipos are 11.1v 900mah coming from Hong Kong. Between the kit, motor, and tail servo I only spent $145. That sounds better than $340-375

Just buy a real 250 Trex. I have wasted too much time on cheap helis. By the time you add all the quality components of a gyro, servos ESC, blades, batteries etc.; you could have had a quality heli with unlimited potential for not much more $. I love my aling trex 250, 450 pro and 600e. Plastics parts fail quickly and end up costing you a lot more $ not to mention time and frustration. I enjoy flying my 250 and 450 in my house during the winter so I am not going to have something fail because of poor engineering or inferior parts/manufacturing. I just cant wait for a torque tube to come out for my 250. Happy Flying!

The kit sucks. I got mine yesterday and I hate it and wish I didn't spend the money on it. I should have spent the money on fixing my HDX450. The biggest problem with this kit is the fu^king screws they used. There not hex head but more of a "star" shape. They all strip out very easy and of course the tools that come with the kit suck really bad. I already had to order the Align tail boom holder $20 and I'm going to probably find myself ordering the Align screw set too, another $15 with shipping, if I dont throw it in the trash first. With the crappy screws as tight as I could get them, the tail boom still wasn't tight enough and the belt came loose in flight. The heli headed right for me. All I could think about doing was throwing my hand up and the main blade damn near took my thumb off. Cut the hell out of it and it took forever to stop bleeding. Aside from that, I killed one plastic blade, tail boom support, tail boom and feathering shaft. Total damage $25 in parts now needed. People told me to save my pennies and get the Align kit and that would have been the smart move. Guys please dont waste your time with this kit. Its nothing but a dumb investment. I doubt I'm going to waste my time and money on fixing this and simply cut my looses.

I bought the EXI 250 from Xheli.com. The kits are built with torx screws. Very small, very dumb idea. I did get the new Align tail boom holder and it does fit directly in the frame. As of now those were the only screws that were giving me a problem. I would like to find some screws for the horizontal fin and tail assembly but that'll be later on down the road. I'm so upset about this buy that I dont even wanna think about what it needs. Because it was a cheap build and the tail didn't hold at all, even with the screws as tight as I could get them, I broke the boom, bent the main shaft, feathering shaft and it could use a new belt. The stock EXI belt is right crappy and is already fraying. Looking at $20 in parts if I go EXI and xheli.com. Or $35-40 with Align stuff from HeliDirect.com. We'll see what the future holds.

My buddy got the same kit. He thought he saved also, until he realized what needed replaced and fixxed to make it fly like my other buddy's T-250. He sold it, and just got what he should have from the beginning, and that is a Align Trex 250. You can't polish a turd !

If I'm going to try and make this heli work. I'm going to look into the Align frame halfs and screw set. I can get the screws out for the most part and the ones that dont want to come out I can take a drill to. All I really need is a screw set. But we'll see what the damage report is once I get it apart. If it wasn't for the torx screws this would otherwise be a solid heli. I never expected it to be of Align quailty but did expect better than what I got. Again it's just a screw issue. If the kit would have came as a kit and needing assembly, then I would have ordered the screws and went from there. Some are loc-tited in and others are rather loose. But your right you can't polish a turd!! But can we try? LMAO
