HEY, Astrohog I just picked up that all so popular pit box
cant Wait to get started. How is that clear fuel jug holding out, thats what I want ,just want to make sure the fuel won't eat it. Thanks Someone told me you could take an old CD ROM and hook it to the 12 volt gel and with some speakers. Now that sounds Crazy. Don't know if it would work .Sounds good.

I have been using a Great Planes master caddy. Then I saw the "Box from Hell". I got one made by another company, but it looks identical to the Black & Decker. Soooo much more room. Love the wheels and "two box" design. There is a place for everything I could possible need. I even have two Futaba radios in the top part on one side and still have tons of space on the other side. I do have to unscrew the antennas but that's no big deal. Oh, and I don't use the top tray. I just don't need it. I can't imagine using my old caddy again. I think I'll give it away.
Thanks for a GREAT idea!

This post shows if the industry would make a better box and stepped into the next century they would have made some $$$$$$. Hey pay attention to the Modeler, we have the ideas and the money. We can't do it all for ya.True RC has come a long long way, but we still have a long way to go. The box from HELL
is just 1 example. where are these guys that get paid to come up with this stuff, flyin?????

Where can I get a job like that playing with RC for a living?Damn right I'm jealous. Guess I'll have to stick with being a part time RC addict. (not paid) Billy your one lucky guy.Doing what you love for a living is even worth less pay in my book.
Keep up the ideas, great work

You got to like it when your hobby is paying the mortgage. With two kids now (one just came) I don't have time for the hobby at home or on the weekend. I'm ecstatic that I get paid to do what I enjoy the most....talk about planes, promote planes, fly planes, get reviews done on planes, create ads about planes and spend the day with great people. I'm really excited about it. I owe much of it to RCU and all the guys that helped me learn what I know to get this far. THANKS!

It is my H9 1/4 Super Cub. I didn't put the wheel pants on and replaced the stock wheels with DuBro Cub wheels. I will put a picture of it up when I get home. I haven't flown it yet (been too rainy here) but look to get it up in the air this weekend or next. It has a G-23 under the cowl. I started the engine this past weekend, but left the wing tube at home.
Hopefully I will have some good weather this weekend. It is amazing how some people want to overpower this cub with G-38!!!!! From the ground test, it will have more than enough power to move this plane around. It is my first gasser.

They started arriving in the states around February. I picked mine up Feb 1. Finished about three weeks ago, but haven't really had a chance to take it out because of all of the rain we have been getting out here. Hopefully will be able to fly it on Sunday!

Astrohog,
Wanted to say thanks for the tip on the fuel cells. I grabbed a couple over at the local WM and they work great! BTW, you guys out there that decide on this fuel cell idea, take the cap from your fuel jug and move it to the cell. It fits perfectly!
Billy,
Hats off to you for such a great idea! I've been watching this post for a while to glean the "best of the best" on conversions of this box. I've been silent the whole time but now that my wife and I are looking to finally get started on this project, I wanted to speak up and say "thanks". On the side, Billy, congrats on the new arrival! We had our first child last year and she's 10 months old now. Kids sure do add a challenge to spending time with R/C, but they are great, aren't they? Thanks again for the great tip!

Well I got my (fuel cell) figured out. Went with a 2 gallon clear similar to astrohog's 1 1/4 gallon.
It would not fit in the bottom section of the all so popular Box from Hell,so I took a hair dryer softened it up and pushed it into position PERFECT FIT plus its 2 gallon
I took a 1 gallon milk Jug lid and some blue silicone form a gasket and secured the bottom hole HOPE it works I will let it set a day or so before the test (ANY advice)
My cell will go in the bottom of the top
