Astrohog,
Have you begun to see signs of the decomposition of the fuel cell that you installed? 512 CES has mentioned seeing signs of the coming demise of his tank.
512 CES,
What's going on with your tank now?
To Both of You:
What fuels are you storing in your tanks?

In reference to the fuel cell problem 512 is having:
I'm using a rubbermaid 1 gallon jug. I have been storing Omega Comp. Fuel 15/18% in mine. Looking at his pic, it appears both our cells are made from the same type plastic. His is a 2 gallon with a spigot and big cap while mine is a 1 gallon with just the big cap on top. It also appears in his pic that he used RTV blue to seal the spigot part. I used RTV blue to seal my big cap.
I'm thinking that his fuel is mixing with the RTV and the RTV is causing the cloudyness and bad smell in his cell. The fuel never mixes with the RTV in mine and my cell is still crystal clear.
Try putting some dried RTV in a glass and add some fuel. Let it sit and see what happens.
That's my best guess.

The good news is I found plastic fuel tanks at Home Depot that fit almost perfectly in the bottom without any cutting.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. If there are one of these boxes at Home Depot I could grab it for you. You send me a check and I ship you the box.

It's done and works great. I just need to take some pictures. I drag it to the field, to work and then home. I have two chargers in it now but since I'm about to start using Li Poly I'm going to have to get a third. I'll get some pics this week end and get them up. I'll show guys at the front counter and they start drooling. It was easy to do. It just cost a little.

I use a 5gallon bucket with a bucket tool lining installed and a sit on top lid. It cost me about 15$ total and it subs as a very strong seat while your working on something. Just put the fuel and battery in the middle of the bucket, drill 2 holes for the electric starter wire and fuel tubing.. and the tool lining can hold everything I need.. starter, glow ignighter, fuel pump and whatever else... and its light easy to carry!!! I will try to take a few pics later and post them.
here's a pic you can see it in the distance.

From: Goodyear, AZ,
I am about to embark on this new flight box journey. How are you guys running the Dual 12v Battery Cells.
Are the connected in series or parallel? Or are they each isolated by a switch or other connection.
I would imagine they need to be connected in parallel otherwise you would end up with a 24v power source potentially harming your equipment.
Any help would be appreciated.
