RE: Let's see your work shop!
OMG>> I thought this would be a good idea, but I had to stop half way through this forum because it looks like a few either own or have friends that own hobby shops and take pics of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must admit that 95% of these hobby rooms/work areas do look normal. [X(]
ORIGINAL: 1wolf-RCU Thanks Guys! There are a lot of very nice looking shops in this thread. I espescially like that hobby shop of Gunny11's on page 1. |
RE: Let's see your work shop!
Hey Ryan:
I see A shop but I don't see anything resembling any type of RC product be it 4 X 4 , boat or AIRPLANE. Everyone elses shops/work spaces has some type of RC product present. Can you please put an rc plane on the table and take a new pic so it will be an 'official' RC shop? Yes, what I am saying is, your dads wood shop don't count. LOL> Didn't you say "serious RC builders shops"? I could take a pic of mine but it has a 65 Impala under restoration in it BUT I do have an RC plane under construction sitting on top of the car, radios on the shelf etc.>> BUT it ain't a pretty site by any means. My shop is 900 square feet. I built it in 1998. A serious modeler? I am just getting back into it. And THAT is my two cents. ORIGINAL: CRAZYRYAN Here is my shop detached from the house looks pretty small. The second pic shows the table saw and the band saw along with a dust collector. The third pic shows the skill saw, work bench soon to be replaced with a new one, and the peg board. There I have it me and my dad's wood/hobby shop. We have to make room for ouor projects wich is kinda hard. Planning on adding the shop another side so we hav lots of more room. By the way it even has a bathroom with sink! we usually use it as a storage too bad.[&o] |

well i don't have much money for buying whatever i want the last one i did was a sukhoi su31 from hobbico kinda a piece of junk but i use the shop to borrow the tools that would work with me. I'm planning on buying the piper arrow III but i have to leave to AZ to help build my grandfathers cabin and that'll get me skill to make my ultimate dream shop! right now im just helping a handy man building a barn but with this weather it drives me nutz the ground is soaky and can't mix the concrete or it won't bond very well. l8tr

RE: Let's see your work shop!
OK guys what's with hanging all the planes the wrong way. I see several pics here with the airplanes being held by the tails. I was always told going back over 30 years that it was best to hang the planes from the engine. The reason for this is that the oil residue does not gum up the bearings. So what gives.
I hate to see this start as a debate but what's better then: Hang the planes by the engines and save the bearings or by the tail? Hold on for the ride. |

Nice neat shop CL 415. That a nice collection of hand saws and braces. Planning on building larger scale some day ;)?
|
RE: Let's see your work shop!
Presently building a TF Piper Arrow (7feet wingspan) and a CL-415 water bomber which has an 8 feet wingspan. Also finishing an rc catamaran sailboat which is 5 feet long by 4 feet wide. That beside furniture that I build for the house.

RE: Let's see your work shop!
CL-415, from my vantage point, you do nice work. Is the Arrow a kit or scratch? Could I talk you into a Sport Gas Hydro instead of the Cat? 70 MPH with a Full Mod Zenoah 260. Not blowing smoke either. I own one. What a rush. I do airplanes also. In the middle of a 1/4 scale Tiger Moth currently. The water is to hard for boats. But this is a "Show your Shop" thread. Don't want to encur the wrath of the reading public. One day I'll have to show my little corner of the basement.

RE: Let's see your work shop!
Sheesh CL......you even have a HARD HAT in your workroom....hammers, saws, etc......:)

SCORED another free cabinet for the shop. Remodeling an office in my building and It's a shame how we throw stuff away and pass the cost on.
Light sanding and a couple of coats of paint. Pete |

Here's my brand-new shop. Still have some fine tuning to do, but you get the general drift. I thought you'd enjoy a before-and-after set. BTW, that's an 8x14 lathe under the dust cover...
Also my new building board. 1/2" MDF edged with shelf track, covered in 1/2" of cork. |

Here's mine. I built a room in the basement of my townhouse shortly after my wife and I moved in. I couldn't not have a place to escape to work on my projects. Pardon the mess, no matter how hard I try to keep it organized once I get started on a project, well you know, it just happens.
