Thanks for the kind comments, lou. Here's what I have left to do...

[ul][*] Get the seats in from eBay and find the best mounting height for them[*] Make a mesh platform for the seats to mount to[*] Place holes in the platform to mount it to the custom Clevis body pin mounts I made[*] Get exhaust pipes from the fabricator[*] Fit exahuast pipes to frame[*] Chrome the pipes with paint or maybe send them to be chromed (if possible)[*] Mount LED lights in pipes[*] Wire LED lights in pipes to ESC motor output
[/ul]

It's almost there. A few more weeks and it should be completed. It's just a time factor of getting everything together.

That's why I use my HAM radio callsign. There's no one that's going to come up with it, even in their wildest imagination. If you do enough hunt and peck, you'll also find out a lot more about me by just using those letters and number.

Thanks, lou. I am really trying to get somewhere near the cartoonish look the duck had at the beginning of the commercial and more loke the tire ratio shown in the pic you display...

Actually, lou, the tires are larger than normal. Notice how they come close the body, but don't ever touch the bottom on the real truck. The cartoon/CGI car can get away with the tires going past the body, but on this RC, I can't do it as the body extends out almost 1/2" over the inside part of the tires. The body sits up astronomically high on all cars (mine, the CGI/cartoon, and the real monster car.) It is considered a super lift. I wouldn't lower it as I think bigger tires would offset the gappage I'm looking to eliminate. I just need to know if the 1:6 scale tires are going to work in terms of adding more obnoxiousness to the build, like in the cartoon/CGI car. Keep in mind that the body has to sit up high to put the duck inside.

Here's a pic of the side scale:

Here's what I'd like it to look more like:

I just took some measurements. The existing 1:10 scale tires are 5.5" tall. I've seen sales on eBay of New Bright tires that stand 7" tall. This would offset the gap perfectly to create the image of the larger tires above. I have to question if these 7" tires are those of a 1:6 scale. New Bright only makes one size larger, that being 1:5 scale, but it is for their MAX Electric buggy... a different type of tire altogether. If I can get a measurement off of you texx of those 1:6 scalers you have, I'd know whether or not to pursue such tires. Maybe we could make a deal or something??? This guy on eBay is selling 10 sets of 4 for $27.50 per set of 4 with free parcel post shipping: http://cgi.ebay.com/HUGE-NEW-BRIGHT-...3A1%7C294%3A50

Lou, please read my last post. Do these larger tires measure up to 7"? Thanks for the pics.

So, if I can confirm with you that the 1:6 scalers are indeed 7", do you have any available for purchase, or should I just contact this guy on eBay? I'd rather deal with peple I know who could use some money than people who I don't know. I can make shipping easy for you by providing my FedEx account number to get the thing to Florida lickety-split.

Great news Lou. Thank you. Please take a look at this pic and tell me what you think on the debate between the current 5.5" and the proposed 7".

I do know that I probably will only get somewhere in between the 5.5" and 7" due to the bottom rising along with the top. This would be from the increase in the radius all around. I should end up comfortably, somewhere at the 6.25" mark, which should also still give a side view of the painted shock springs.

In my opinion, the 7:, are a little too big .. [X(]

All you need is a little smaller .. just an idea .. [8D]

Should be that the wheelbase of your crawler is somewhat elongated.

Take a look at my edits. With the radial averaging, thus making the bottom proportionally higher with the top, I should hit somewhere in between, around 6.25". What is your eBay handle so I can mention that you referred me to redslowwolf???

Thanks for the info. I'll give this guy a holler and see if I can get the ones with the Blue beadlocks to match the real monster car. Is there anything special I need to know about mounting these things up to the hubs, or is it just pull out the center screws in the hubs, pull off the old tires, put on the new ones, then screw the new ones on??? He mentions something in his posting on eBay about a 5/16" hex nut. That's Greek to me. Here's what he states...

ORIGINAL: redslowwolf

SOMETIME THESE ARE STRAIGHT AXEL WITH LIKE AFLAT TYPE END AND INSTALLED WITH A 5 /16 HEX NUT THAT I WILL SEND WITH IF POSSIBLE.

Have a good night's sleep Lou. Here's what I wrote to him in hopes of a response and visit to our forums...

ORIGINAL: KE4QPF

Dear redslowwolf,

Hello. My name is Don and I was referred by eBayer and friend Louisetter2006. I am attemtping to recreate the Aflac "Monster Car" as seen on TV using a New Bright Jeep Rubicon rolling chassis under a 2009 Ford Fusion NASCAR COT shell. Pictures of the build process can be found here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_86...tm.htm#8643819 I saw your auction, spoke with Louis, and he said you were a very good person to deal with. I have two questions for you regarding these tires. 1) Do you still have the ones with the blue beadlocks available?, 2) Would there be any difficulty putting these 1:6 scale tires on a 1:10 scale rolling chassis to create an exaggerated look of "Monster Tires" as the TV spot was named? Please let me know. I also have a FedEx account I would like to use for shipping in lieu of your parcel post option. Would you be willing to ship using my FedEx account number via FedEx Ground? If not, no problem. Thanks for your time.

Thanks, Lou. It looks pretty straight-forward. The hex nut appears to be there to offer support on the spinning axle for the tire's extra bulk. Beyond that hex nut, it looks like a pretty simple screwdriver operation.

looking good don . on the 7" tiers remmber this will alter your gearing . and cause all sorts of problems , i have done this to hobby grade trucks and blew the esc as the motor becomes overloaded . not only that but your servo will also struggle to turn the tiers . and most likely crapp out . to cope with the gearing you would need to go to a lower pinion . i think even then the 280 motors would struggle with these tiers .. not sure how you could resolve the servo problem .. thanks don ..
