thanks randy, but after reading this thread, seeing a video and warning from their website about what happens when 1 engine quits..I think I will look for a safer/cheaper/easier way to get my kicks...and spend my money..

good choice,i still am not comfortable with mine. every time i try to fly it something different seems to break or malfuntion. i had to re-weld the main landing gear on retracts, welds broke on takeoff last week, see video at trentonrcflyers.com. that was a shock to do a 360 spin on takeoff!!!! randym

Look at this hobby retailer that stole my photos from post # 74 in this thread.

Edit: The retailer was responsive and removed my photos upon my first contact. No further comment......

Gents

To those of you who’ve crashed, were you all using 3-bladed props?

Thanks.

Randy

Well, you know that 3- and 4 blades are less efficient than a standard 2-blade. Just curious.

I was just wondering how much headaches you guys have had on running the engines inverted? I will mount my engines soon and I'm not sure which way to go, inverted or side mounted.

hey gremlin, i am running gms 32 and the only thing i am doing is using os #5 glow plugs and keeping the idle trim up just a bit, you may have to really lean your low end setting down. but they are very reliable in the air.hope you enjoy the retracts they worked great for me. randy m

I mounted my GMS 32's sideways. (See picture) The engines were running perfectly, but when I rebuild mine, I am installing an on board glow starter, just as an added safety feature. I have it ----- so why not use it. I am starting to put mine back together again, probably a couple of weeks for a maiden. Jerry

Did you use the same engine mounts to install the motors sidways? and did you have to use muffler extensions? Tom

Hi guys, well today was maiden on #3 c-130!!! All went well 2 clicks down on elev. and 1 click on left ail. was all the trim needed to fly hands off. I kept the power on half to 75% the entire flight. My langing was smooth as glass but a tad hot due to keeping engines running on long final. I am not going to fly it again till I install on-board glow just to be safe. Randy M

Gremlin-----Yes ----- I used the same motor mounts, and yes I had to add exhaust extentions. Congratulations on #3, Randy. Keep it flying.

Kool Beans, Randy...

U Da Man!

Mr DJ

Anyone--the narcells are numbered 1-4 but my wings are not. 1/4 and 2/3 are matches, but which goes where on the wings--my wings have no matching numbers.

Sitting in the cockpit------the Number 1 engine is always the outboard engine on your left wing, and Number 2 is the inboard engine on your left wing. Number 3 is the inboard engine on your right wing, and Number 4 is the outboard engine on your right wing. This is the same for full scale. Jerry

Jimmy I think the 30 fs would be plenty to fly it. I am using 32 2strokes and half throttle is still to fast, but keep in mind you have to keep this plane flying fast or it will stall very easy.Randy ps jerry I do not know what on board glow to use. Any suggestions?
