Lets see,
You get 5 complete cycles @100psi? You say they work fine until the get down to 50lbs of air right?
what is the (TS) mean?
In all honesty, I have put up to 120-130psi in my TF mustang and that really works well then
Will this hurt them in the long run? Perhaps? I gave up on the perfect, cycling deal, as the most important thing to have is a Realiable functing Retracts
As long as they go up and down, you will not hear the clunk clunk anyway when it is up in the air! I would just fly it and see how they look and make small adustments and test ti before you fly!
Hope this helps

Justin,
If I pump my Robarts up to 100#, I get about one cycle per five # of pressure lost. They cycle fine down to 50#.
I don't know why I can't get the TS to work....I really haven't played with it enough, perhaps.

Help Please !!
Wiring up the TS and I am not sure how the Throttle connections go
I have one throttle servo no 3 and the other is no 7 they are mixed so that 3 is the master
So no3 goes from the receiver to the twinsinc throttle channel
Then both servos go to the twinsinc I understand, but what about the lead for no 7 throttle servo that comes from the receiver. Do you connect it by y lead where it goes to the twin sync ?
AH ! so close by so far to finishing
Any feedback would be most welcome

Alans,
The TS only needs one input from the receiver for throttle. The AUX is only used if you want advanced function. Both throttle servos connect to TS and TS connects to throttle channel on the receiver. No mixing required but make sure your end points are set according to the directions.

19.4 lbs without lipos. i added on set to each nacelle and balance is perfect. i will cut a hatch on the bottom to get 2 lbs of lead out. it will be a nice hatch with masgnet latches.

19.4 lbs with all gear aboard. it balanced tail heavy . With two of the 11.1v 5000mah lipos ,one in each nacelle its balances! so I need to take some lead out of the nose 1.9 pounds to be exact. that way when I put the second set in it will be fine. I am not just taking this out and flying I will look at the thrust and if I dont like it I will put glow engines in it and use the outrunners in a light arf. But everyone I talked to says it will be fine I flew this combo on realflight and fine!!!!

Quick question... what did everyone (who did a glow engine version) do with the tight fitting fuel tank to help stop vibration? - there isnt enough room to put foam on the sides... I was thinking about injecting some silicon down the side?
Any other ideas?

Well I am ready to Maiden this weekend
2 x 55 Ax engines, exhaust extensions, twin sync and robarts
If you remember i took most of the lead shot out of the nose and she balanced spot on with the batteries in the nose.
Weight is 19.6 pounds, i have balanced her at 87 mm. Has anyone played with the CG yet. I must just check my Air system as I am only getting around 8 cycles before the air goes low. How many cycles should I expect, I am losing around 50 psi overnight !!
Any advice welcome !!

Alans,
That's a lot of loss overnight. I get about 5# loss in a 24 hour period. I lose 5# per cycle and my gear works down to about 50#.
I also have brakes. Did you change out the Robart tees? They leak very badly. A lot of people use the tees supplied by McMaster-Carr.

How are you guys measuring your air pressure. I was using the robart 164g pump. I just left it attached and read the pressure off the gauge. By chance, I heard air leaking and discovered it was coming from the connection of the fill port and the filler adapter. Now I know it holds air better but i'm not sure of the leak rate. What can i use to measure air pressure more precisely?

FLIGHT REPORT
electric conversion eflite power 60s phoenix 8o amp esc 4 11.1v 5000mah prodigy batts. weight 22.6 lbs. she took off in 100 ft of asphalt and did feel heavy but no tip stalls . retracted the gear and saw the speed pick up. flew for 4 minutes and landed. Cut to 3/4 power downwind and dropped gear and full flap. No balloning noted turned onto final and cut to 1/2 power and she settled in . Rock solid approach no stall tendancies . cut to 1/3 over end of asphalt and she made a perfect touchdown. She stopped in 50 ft so no need of brakes. i dont see the e conversion working on grass. im running zinger 15x8 props . I may try a higher pitch 15x10 or 12.
it was very warm and humid so I know ill get better flight characteristics on a less warm and humid day

Hi All...
WOW!!! TOPFLITE REALLY DID WELL WITH THIS PLANE!!!! Please excuse my enthusiasm! I have been following this thread for the past 3 months while my 310 has been on LAYBY... Such a cruel way of doing things.. I couldn't play with it earlier!
Ill be honest there is so much info in this thread ( and alot of B/S about weight etc etc etc) and its to much to really try and sift thru....
Would anyone please mind taking the time to help me out with what engines fit and modifications and servo choices etc etc etc anything that will help!
I was looking at the OS 50SX... however it says it's discontinued... Does the OS 55 ax fit? has anyone actually tried it!
Got to love 310's
Hope to hear back from someone soon!
hope all your 310's are flying as good as they look!
Michael

Tim,
I am encouraged by your conversion to electric, even though the e-flight 60 did not place in the "motocalc" software. I am surprised to hear that you only needed the 11.1v battery to get enough power to turn the Zingers. Which leads me to the inefficiency of that prop with that motor. Why don't you try the APC e props in 15x6. Not the "slo-flyer" prop, but the "sports" one. That will get you power on take-off but will sacrifice speed when you're at top end. Also, Hobby Lobby carries a graphite e-prop that is extremely stiff in the same dimensions. The pictures look great.

Michael,
Please take this comment as a positive.
If you are going to put in the many hours, not to mention the $$, needed to make this lovely airframe into the model aircraft I am sure you intend, then to take a couple of hours to read through this thread does not seem like an effort to be missed.

I have been very happy with the pair of Evolution .52's I have in my 310. I've tried a variety of props. APC 12.5x6's flew OK but seemed like they loaded the engine just a bit too much. APC 12 x 7's also flew well, turning 10,500 on the ground. I'm going to try some APC 12x6's this weekend. I think that may end up being the best. I'll also try 11x7's and see what happens.
I now have 18 flights on mine and it's a sweetheart. Just watch the landing. If I get it just a notch too slow, the stab will stall and the nose drops. It can then get to bouncing. Fortunately the LG mounts are stout! Keep the speed proper and it lans easy as can be. I've also reduced the flap travel from the recommended amount. That lets the nose be just a bit higher on touchdown.

TonyF,
How are you , were you able to fit the Evolution .52's completely in the cowl? what muffeler have you used, and also how do you feel the power is? would it be safe on single engine ops. Iv'e been looking at putting OS 50 SX's till i found that they were no longer availible, i then went to the idea of the OS 55 AX. but concerned they wont fit on the cowl ! Theoreticaly the 52 shoul have a bit more power then the 50....... would i be correct?
Thanks alot
Michael

Michael,
Like Bo says, if you read through this forum, you'll find that the OS55AX's are the same size as the 46's and fit perfectly .. I have 55's in my 310.. nearly ready to fly.. just some more run-in time with the engine..
Can someone tell me what they did to help stop vibration around the fuel tanks?!
