RE:
have made up all the formers for the fuselage. made f1 thru f5.. put them on paper and having local print shop transfer them to one paper or anyone that needs them also include measurments or where to place them in fuselage. will send to anyone wanting them. not going to charge for them. had to make them for myself, so will let anyone that wants them have them.
also sending to greg so he can supply with the fuselage to anyone that buys from him.
have a great day.
Now i can glue inplace and get on with the rest of it.. also have the gear doors laid out for fiberglass fuselage.

Does anybody have the Easytiger Cessna 310? I am seriously thinking of one. Back in the day, I never built a Nosen 310, but saw many fly and always admired it.
I can handle doing one as an ARF, even if I cannot handle doing an all-wood kit right now, not enough time.
The video of the Easy Tiger on their website is the prettiest model video I have ever seen.
What do you guys think of this one?
I have two of theri warbirds and I am very happy with them. I am not ready, money-wise and time-wise, to make this purchase just yet, but I am thinking very seriously.

RE:
well tomorrow will have the camera going and get pictures on here.. had to take part of the wing apart.. had a bad warp in left wing. now putting it back togeather.
after i get everything ready will fiber glass the wing with 3/4 oz glass.
will hold up on covering the bottom untill the retracts get here and i can get them installed. then will cover the bottom of wing. as soon as i get pictures of the formers then will install and glue in place.
the engines are going to be 23cc with 3 bladed props.

RE:
will keep regular postings now as i go along. going to use connectors on the wiring so i don't have to unhook the wiring all the time when i remove the wings. will show them little later. engines are on the way as well as retracts. going to have to make some changes to get the retracts in rights. i have pictures of the cockpit and hope to be able to get at that at a later date.

Nice Job Al.
Are you going with the 3 piece wing? If so, did you plan on using dowels into the stock aluminum tubes?
Nice workshop you have too, I like the vacuum system to keep the dust down.

RE:
im using the 3 piece wing with dowels in the alum tubes. also going to have a system that bolts the wings togeather. that way they can not come apart. will have all the lights on it also. probably taken this farther then most would. want it to look as real as i can.. can not decide if im going to paint it airforce colors or something else.
the wings are going to be fiberglass.. 3/4oz. im using polyeurethane rather then the old resin. it takes a little more but no smell and easy to work with. put on two coats and then sand with 220, then another coat and same thing.. takes about 5 or 6 coats.
going to put in as big a gas tanks as i can get in it. will have to see what i can get when i get working on the cowling. not sure what im going to do for exhaust yet. will be something different.
i have the air brakes and value for it. would be nice to have electric starters, lbut northing that small and no room.
if anyone has any thing they want to add let me know. also if anyone needs former patterns let me know.. i have them for the g&l fiber glass fuselage. will send them at no cost.
looking for materials to make windows and windshield out of.

RE: RE:
This is great to see your progress on the 310. I would be interested in the formers as I plan on replacing the original fuse with the G&L
A friend gave me the Cessna, all framed out and I cut the wings into the 3 pieces as he had them glued as one. But reading up on the issue folks have said that the 3 piece flexes quite a bit.
Regards,
Dan

RE:
that is why im using a different type of bolt system for the wings.. not only will it have a dowel to line it up but will have a bolt that goes on a angle to faten them togeather. will show more on it the first of the week. just in the process of making them. will show them when i finish them before installing. will get the formers on paper for you. pm me your address and will send them out next week to you. will also give the measurements from tip to back to install them.
I have done another type of plane using this bolt system and it works.

RE: RE:
here are the pictures showing the bolt system for the wings. these were made out of hard wood 2 inch by 2 inch square and 3/4 inch thick. after drilling a 1/4inch hole through i then added a brass fitting in one end.. bolt goes through and scress the wings togeather. this will also help to keep the wings from flexing.
have to add the wiring for the lights and servos extensions. im using a radio shack connector that will connect the wires togeather.
have started to work on inner and outter flaps.

Hi Al,
I am following this build closely as I have a NIB Nosen 310. Your doing a great job. Also I noticed your leading edge of the wing is rectangular stock. I speak from experience when I say what a ***** it is to sand. I use the Great Planes Power Plane and it is FANTSATIC!!!!! it makes short work of sanding leading edges and is especially helpful when you are building giant scale. It has been discontinued but I'm sure if you put up a wanted ad on RCU you'll get a reply. New they were only $29.99. The replacement blades are still available at Tower Hobbies.

i also have one of those myself.. when i get ready will use it to save alot of sanding.. still have lots of thins to do before i get that far.
lots of things to put in the wings before closing up.
got the patterns made up for the formers, so have to send out couple of copies. also have a spare for myself. makes it lot easier when you don't have to cut and shape something untill you get a former made.
will post more this evening.
