My Next Goal: Battery Storage
for my battery I’m going to be using a 5Ah Hexfly 7.2 Volt NiMH with the redcat racing banana connector. The battery should fit almost perfectly beneath the seat with the current batter walls cut off (Picture 1). It can go through the back of the seat for easy access. (Picture 2)

Update:
decided to upgrade the back suspension to replace the torsion springs. I used the same realtree monster truck shocks for now, but could be easily upgraded to oil filled in the future

It’s been awhile, my biggest problem has been getting the stock pinion off. I have gotten it off. If any of you were wondering how to take it off, this is what I did. 1. Grab the motor in a table vice. 2. Grab hand held vice and grasp pinion gear. 3. Pull. I am waiting for my 1:10 electronics to try to fit currently,

I managed to get a 550 motor mounted to the stock gearbox, it took some drilling and some cutting with a dremal, those washers are for a more secure fit as the screws are slightly too long.
i have my esc mounted on the side, it’s a tight fit, but there is no room up top because of the very large 550 motor.
I reinforced the gearbox with some super glue, and mounted a piece of scrap aluminum to mount a servo to.
I am currently waiting for my pinion gears and servo that should be here tomorrow. As I only had a 21 tooth 48p pinion around which was way to big. I ordered a set from 13t to 16t so I can mess around a bit. I ordered a micro server that puts out 3.8kg which should hopefully be enough to turn the skis.
i hope the gearbox holds up, if it doesn’t then I’ll have to get a new motor, because this one is way too low of turns to have a 4.1:1 ratio.

Hey guys, I've been following this thread for some time now! My son got a rc skidoo rev for Christmas when he was 3.. My dad should of known he was too young to really enjoy it then, so of course he promptly wrecked it and it sat in his bin of toys for years with no track.. Now my son is 11 and he really wants to use it this winter, so I figured I'd at least fix the track for him! I'm an aircraft mechanic so I made the track from strips of an old pneumatic deice boot, some strips of aluminium and some hardware. It actually turned out great, so now I have to upgrade the motor and receiver!

Hello, That looks like it would be a great track for hardback or ice!
if you do upgrade the motor and receiver, I recommend going with a brushless 380 size, or any size that’s slightly smaller then a 550. With a 550 I had to cut out a lot of the plastic body/frame, and am currently having problems with the “track drive axle”. Going with a brushless 380 (the same size in the first part of the forum;380 now is the same as the 480s before) is a lot easier and would probably work better.
