I needed bearings for my fox 3.2. So, I decided to put my G62 on the Edge while the bearing where getting replaced in the fox. My G62 is very strong, and much lighter than the stock G62. I didn't move anything (batteries etc), just mounted the engine on the firewall.
Some thoughts after the initial fights.
1 - Tons of power, the G62 is spinning the 23x8 MSC with authority. Excellent throttle response, and good punch out power. Hovers, and Torques better than before.
2 - I need some right thrust, I don't know, my 'cup' on the G62 could be the problem... but during full throttle vertical climbs, she pulls to the left... not much, but I will put a couple of washers on the firewall, that should fix that....
3 - Balance seems to be in the good range, it's about 1/2 forward of 33%... I had it at 33% with the Fox. I guess the G62 is a little heavier than the fox.
OK. When attempting a wall, the edge wants to snap.... also, full elevator is to much for harriers now (it rotates right into hover)...
I think I understand the harrier problem, it's in the throttle... I'm not 100% linear, so I can fix that... but the 'snapping' tendency when flying slow (a wall)... has me confused.
Is it to much elevator throw causing the snap?
Would the additional weight of the G62 cause it to snap?

My guess, and it's only a guess, is that because of the nose heavy condition you are forced to use more elevator and that is what's causing the snap. My first action would be to get the balance back to where it was withthe Fox.

Agreed to some extent on the snap problem. A "wall" really isn't a maneuver designed to be entered "slow" though, so a lack of momentum comes into play. If you're snapping uopn entry into a medium speed wall, dial in a little rudder mix or plan ahead with a touch of left thumb input. It's also possible that the right thumb may not be completely centered, adding a bit of aileron input at the wrong time. Something I do from time to time.
There's really no such thing as "too much elevator". Perhaps too much thumb?

Adding more right thrust via washers will not cure the pulling
left problem. It is a condition of torque. We all use alittle right
rudder when going verical. Some gas flyers mix in some right
rudder when full thottle is commanded.

Yes, George Hicks highly recommends mixing right rudder with throttle rather than added a "fixed" amount of right thrust. The reason for the pulling to the left is due to the slip stream hitting the left side of the rudder pushing the tail to right which looks like the nose is pulling the left!!
