RE: New 35% Extra 300
This plane, like the 41% Extra 300, was originally meant to be an IMAC type plane, but it has turned out to be about teh best 3d plane out there. I have heard from several pilots with experience flying several other designs including the SD Yaks. Each of them, without exception, has said this Extra is thge best 3d plane they have ever flown.
The absolute worst comparison I ever heard was that the 41% Extra (same plane, different size) was rqual to the SD 37.5% Yak.

Tom, is it possible to use only one servo on each wing? I was also thinking of using a single a123 battery to power both the ar9100 and the engine, is this possible? I'm trying for a very light airplane(I think it may be possible to hit upper 23 to lower 24 lbs range)

I have heard of people using the same A123 pack for the receiver and ignition again with no ill effects, but again I have not personally tested it. I would not be afraid to do it after a decent range check, certainly the A123s have plenty of punch to handle all this.

Worked great. Not the slightest indication of any noise or coupling. One plane, one battery pack.
I also heard that the AR9100 receivers are shipping, mine is supposed to ship today.
A new ages is upon us.

Tom, what reciever where you using? I'm thinking of using a single 8711 in each wing and a single battery for the whole plane. I'm a super slow builder, but it looks like the plane with wheel pants and spinner will come out at about 23.5 lbs. Can you say floater. I'm chomping at the bite to see what that will fly like, but right now its 13 below zero. I can wait!!!

I went with the red/white/blue.... Thought if there were too many that looked the same, that I would be able to change that scheme a little easier.... Gonna do the DA100/hitec 5955 route on mine......cant wait.... should be here by Grayhound tonight... I hope!

Hey tom,
Did you recieve your AR9100 yet hows it look?

Of course there are the 9 servo slots. Then along the bottom under the servo slots are 3 more 3-pin servo type connectors.
One side is labeled for the soft switch, the other side is labeled for the data logger/bind. The one in the middle is not labeled and is not described in the instructions.
Tomorrow I will do some probing to find out what connects to what. I suspect this connector is just another power input or output, but who knows? Maybe it's a magical 10th channel!
More to come. BTW I bought two if anybody wants one.

Wow, its here and its huge.... No major damage at all.
The end of the box had a little break in it and the rudder pockets were pushed in a little bit, and the canopy had one crease in it. Umm,,, did I say it was huge? Biggest plane to date I have owned. Previous was an H9 Sukhoi. Gonna seal all seams tonight and get the motor nounted.
