OK here's a few bits of information.

The next batch of the 100CC Extras will be 260s instead of 300s. No real change except to the looks. Anybody that wants a solid color one can order it now, must be prepaid though. They ought to be here in about 3 months, figure just after labor day. I don't know what scheme I will use but it will be different from the 300.

I have ordered a small batch of 35% Edges also, again scheme unknown.

There will be an 88" 50cc Edge 540 with new scheme. The 84" 540T will continue to be available.
There will be an 87" Extra 260 50cc with a new scheme, the 84" Extra 300 will be available also for a while.

This was all in the works before this thread got started, but the input has confirmed that I'm on the right track.

88" Edge and 87" Extra 260 are simply extended from the 84" planes with single place cockpits. Other minor changes but basically the same planes. People have been asking for a single place plane for a long time.

It's over and I didn't faint or fall apart, she was beautiful and the groom showed up, the only down side. Dads (at least this one) never really accept losing a daughter to some other guy.

Congrats on the wedding, and I assume all is well and you are out of the hospital. I am looking forward to the 35% edge and if I understand correctly, it will be here shortly after labor day? I guess I will have to make sure I dont crash the sukhoi until after that.

Tom,

No, we don't. I have two daughters, one of which is married. They remain your daughter regardless... Congratulations on the addition of a son-in-law to the family.

Tom.....

First and foremost , congrats on gaining a son-in-law! As long as he's a good guy , he'll make your daughter happier than ever! It'll be a cool thing watching her grow up even more raising her own family. That's awesome man!

2nd....I didn't know you we're going to hop on the ball as fast as you just did , and order up a bunch of 260's. How the hell did you do that so quick? What's the real difference between the 260 and 300 anyways....hatch and canopy..and that's it?

BTW.....i DO like the red / white version of your 300 ( not so much the blue and yellow ), but what's this new scheme you have coming? is there anyway you might be able to give us an idea of what it might look like?

BTW......i thought you we're laying low for a little while.....sheeeesh ya friggin' madman! HAHA!!

No decisions on schemes yet. 260 and 300 difference is just the canopy/hatch. IN full scale there are some other differences, but in a model we make so many other changes that those things get lost.

Tom, You should design a few schemes and let customer vote for best one.

A 35 percent Extra 260 in a scale scheme would be nice, as long as it flies as good as the 35 percent 300! My best flying plane to date! What happened to the MX2?
The mX2 was never produced because I just don't need it. I have 3 100cc planes now and a 4th waiting in the wings, there is a limit to how many planes we can carry. Remember I can't buy 2 or 3, I have to order 50 planes at a crack, and I just didn't see enough potential.

When you say "scale scheme", give me an example. I had the 33% Patty Wagstaff 260's before and nobody wanted them. The other schemes sold well, but the Patty's did not move at all.

So what other scale scheme did you have in mind?

TF

I agree on the scale scheme for a 260, or maybe stealing a scale from a 300 an putting it on the 260. I know its been done to death, but the red bull scheme is nice.

{You could even go so far as to change the colours from metalic blue/silver to metallic burgundy/silver and put the bunny logo on it in blue...sort of a blue bunny theme instead of the read bull... }

If I run across anything interesting I'll post it here for your consideration. Of course, there could also be some solid color offerings.

I was looking for the one that has the dragon scheme airbrushed on it, but can't seem to find it. Of course, it wouldn't be possible with the oracover anyway...but it looked cool.

Here are some various options (all are from 300 series, but could be used on a 260), in no particular order. There are probably a couple, like the eagle, that don't lend themselves to the covering material, but I thought people may like to see them. I tried to find a variety of traditional and some more modern like the one you used on the Sukhoi. Colors could be changed etc.

Edited to add: These are for Tom and others to consider, I don't think I can afford another plane this large right now so my vote wouldn't count for much.

How about something kinda like this? not entirely finished yet, I still need to do the paint, and a few things to tidy up the covering, but this is what happens when you suck air and burp the gas too much when you are too low...... You get to re-decorate!!!!!![8D]

Visualize a pearl white base and metallics for the trim colors.... Massive understatement with unspoken beauty. Kinda like a girl only partially undressed. Leaves you begging for more while wondering if it really could get any better

I agree! Make the plane fluorescent lime green with midnight blue wing graphics and I'm sold! Leave the bottom white for customizing

I like it but the chrome could blind you if the sun hits it just right, dont ask how I know.

Maidened, or RE-maidened it today.... Just enough flash to look cool, not enough to freak out about.... until a low KE pass close in..... Will be sticking to much smaller sections of chrome from now on..... I love the way it looks and everything, just have to remember to keep in mind that temporary blindness while flying an airplane is BAD! More of a concern to me about the chrome was the fact that they reflect, and blend in sometimes with their surroundings.. Don't aske me how I know... lol Whole airplane chrome = TOTAL DESTRUCTION![>:]

I was thinking that design would like nice in a variety of metallic base colors (brgundy, forest green, navy blue, dark purple, etc) with the wing motif done in a silver/gray theme.

Hey Tom,

What do you think about my suggestion of a "Baby" Sukhoi in the Honda Scheme? Have you given any consideration of any more 25% models coming out in the future? I will also consider a 25% Katana or Staudacher.

Right now there are not many options in quarter scale size for gas powered planes. The only other options available at right now are the new models designed around the 35cc-45cc size gas engines or 1.6 to 2.20 glow engines. These airplanes are just the right size for those who do not have a large vehicle to transport the slightly larger 50cc planes.

There are a lot of folks like me that are rather interested in the smaller 25% planes for economical and transportability reasons. In overall sales, did the "babies" sold out the same or better compared with the larger planes? There's a lot of interest out at our club for more quarter scale bunnies. I hope you give this idea some consideration.

/vote

Tom, i recently purchased a baby extra from you. i only purchased once so i dont know how important my opinion is. i really liked the sukhoi with the pocket hinge system and its color scheme but simply put it is just too big for what i have room for where i live and in transportation. my options are restricted to the smaller size planes since it not pheasable (spelling?) for me to acquire a bigger vehicle or move to a larger location to support my break from work stress. (flying) wild hare planes are beautiful. when i opened the box i spent several hours just enjoying the colors and lack of miserable coating that needed heating along with the joy of simplicity to assembly.

when i researched (quality, style, support and customer care) for the jump to gas i looked at several companies that cater to the 25 percent market and well yeah i bought a wild hare.
