Forgot to tell you guys about my portable spray booth put up in the back yard. I purchased it off of Ebay for about $45. It is a party tent with side panels 10x10. Put it up, shoot the paint, full it down and stash it in the shed. Thanks Carl. Chic

Can somebody tell me the dimensions of the torpedo? I might have to make one from scratch.

Carl - go to Post #2528. Email Brett, Charlie's son. He can get you a torpedo. Chic

I started working on building an operational tailhook today. So far it looks good.

Hey Carl - I like it. What is the theory for operating it. Should show well on a slow fly-by at Top Gun. Good move. Chic

I will have a servo just forward of the lever. I want to mount it all to the hatch the hook is mounted to. I angled the lever on the hook as well to get more movement out of it when its down. This is part of the reason I went with the TBM-3E. Its externally mounted tailhook would be easier to make functional.

Larry - Had several senior moments in a row. Letting you know I am keeping an eye on your putting a gyro into the Avenger. May certainly have to follow your lead. Tuesday is suppose to be 60+ degrees before it rains, Maybe I can put some primer on the Cowl and maybe a lite second coat overall. Got some sanding to do tomorrow - we will see. Any more pictures Carl, glad the TBF had the internal tail hook, all I have to show is the toe. Lucky me. Chic

Carl ------------- Now that is "Inventive". Saw the video - slick. A Point Getter For Sure. I'll have to settle for the retracting landing light. Can't keep up with you Navy guys. Chic

Carl,
Really awesome work
Chic, have to rebuild my pvc stand as I made it a bit too high to see inside the fuse, hopefully today before I go to work

Carl - With regards to the cockpit, I remember hearing Dave Platt at a Scale Seminar in Toledo say: With regards to the scale cockpit, per AMA Rules, you could put a Cub cockpit layout into a P-51 and get away with it and receive full points. I wouldn't try that but it did get a smile from everyone there. I have the instrument panel complete and sides semi-constructed. See Post # 2563 for the TBF cockpit; and Post # 2719 (3rd photo) for a glimpse of the left side - side panels. Working on the exhaust system and cowl side pipes cutaways today. Chic

Okay got the stand redone, have to get the son to come over and help me move it from the desk to cradle. Hopefully before Xmas
Chic, per chance do you have any drawing of your gun turret, ours came out a bit too large and I'm thinking of redoing it....
I almost got the Trojan fuse final sanded for glassing, progress I tell ya...oh yeah and I had to work on the outdoor decos besides, it NEVER ends

I wanted to route my exhaust out the scale location but i think i will keep the opened as additional airway exits. I pulled the trigger on a fg-84 so the exhaust will just go out the bottom.

Carl - doesn't the FG-84 have exhaust tubes for each cylinder? If so, route them into the closet scale exhaust if you wish. Really like seeing smoke coming out of scale exhausts. Just a thought. Chic

D#$@ - I did not believe how large this model is until I started sanding all that primer. This is a big airframe. Smile. Happy to do it. Have not finished the fuse yet, then on to the wings. Chic
