A couple of years ago you said you got 500-600 rpm stronger performance with automobile gas versus avgas. This was with the GT33. The GT33 in your 11 pound plane can afford to lose 500 rpm but in...

Even if the release agent is washed off, the surface still needs to be sanded. An abrasive pot scrubber pad may be good enough. This is the labor intensive part that is very tempting to skip. If...

I don't mean to make excuses for Extreme Flight or criticize your response to the problem, but this is pretty typical for Asian ARFs (as if there is any other kind). I have seen this on another...

RE: New DLE 35

[quote]ORIGINAL: Joystick TX
I have my new A0-2 module back from the repair shop. The engine runs, but will not spool up as fast as the A0-1 module and will frequently die if the throttle is...

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 78

Years ago, pre-electric pattern, something like this was done called the Petrol Petrel. F3A legal with a ZDZ 40. If I remember right, vibration was a problem. I only saw it fly a few times. You...

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 78

It will be interesting to see how the inevitable GT44 fits into this mix. Maybe it will be a 45 or 46 but I bet they already have
a prototype running. The hole between 33 and 60 is just too big...

RE: DA Ignition Module

DA ignition is made in Australia. If my DA ignition dies it will be replaced by RCexl. You don't hear about DA problems
much, most likely because the owners just send it in rather than try and...

RE: OS 33GT Gasoline Engine for Pattern

Would an ignition controlled by the transmitter be useful here? The ignition curve would be programmed in the transmitter. Simple with modern radios. It would seem the close ties between OS and...

RE: DLE 20 idol problem

I'm missing how an abrupt step in the ignition timing would allow for a poorly adjusted carb to idle slowly. I think the more important difference with the #4 ignition is that the total range of...

RE: 150 meter rule.

I have used Google Earth for the same thing as it has a built in ruler. I have been at this field out at the center marker while an F3A pilot flew and gave a raised arm to the caller whenever he...

RE: Pipe for DLE 35 RA

I think there are very few actually in the hands of customers and perhaps none running on a pipe yet. I asked a US importer for the exhaust port dimensions and got no response. A simple sketch like...

RE: Home made header supplies???

The KS website is a bit confusing since there are often two part numbers listed on the same page for the same item. The number listed first seems to be what they really go by.

I picked this...

RE: Home made header supplies???

I've bought unadvertised KS parts from DA but if they don't respond then that's a big roadblock. Aircraft International also stocks some stuff but probably just to support the engines they sell. ...

RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)

Cheap and inexpensive don't mean the same thing. Those that don't understand the difference are an easy mark.

Depending on your choices and sources of switches and batteries the price may start be be comparable although I don't see it being cheaper. I make my own packs to get the type and number of...

All of those are attractive features that the diode solution does not have. Like I said, nothing wrong with that choice. I'm just pointing out another choice for those like me that find very cheap...

RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)

From all reports this is a great product backed up with great service.

On the other hand, for the $45 purchase price you could instead get about 1400 of these. That's enough to equip 700 planes...

RE: High rpm 20cc motors

The crankpin/bearing situation is unfortunate because in my limited experience with the DLE it seems to have a lot of potential at higher rpm with a pipe.
