RE: Should I Let Her Fly My Cub?

That reminds me of the early crappy Japanese copies we used to get in the 60's. Scary to think they will eventually make high quality/low cost cars like Japan and Korea but by the zillions.

RE: HOBBY king going down the tube?

I guess you realize every third post shows foamies wrecked first flight while blaming HK or photos of repaired motor mounting damaged "in shipping" and motor shafts being soft? HK would be out of...

RE: Good idea for science with my car!

How about effects of %nitro on accel, top spd, mileage, cost of operation (mileage/fuel cost), and eng temp. Simple, yet requires considerable testing and you can easily eliminate variables.

RE: Can't star new engine

Thanks, they started it and ran it a couple of minutes for the first heat cycle. I had no problems starting it today and doing break in. It fires right up.

Can't star new engine

I have a new Ofna Ultra Comp and could not start my engine.
I took it to the LHS where I bought it (good thing, huh?) and they started it. It was very hard to pull. They loosened the glow plug a...

RE: AHHHHRGG! I feel incredibly stupid! I can't get it right! AHHHHHRG!

Yeah, everyone knows THAT feeling.
I usually do rc nitro planes. After 2 years I KINDA have tuning down... (except sometimes, sigh.)
I've had engines I just couldn't get quite right.
Sometime...

RE: How Long Can You Fly?

I was flying my Joss Stick with a Magnum .91 for a maiden and my carb idle stop screw backed out, leaving the plane running with no throttle control. Of course I panicked and was dying to run out of...

RE: How low is too low??

I used to love to flat spin my fun tiger extra until I was really (I mean really) close to the ground, drop the nose, and pull out at the last second. One day I left it on low rates...

RE: Death spin

Ahhh! I flew yesterday and spun several times. Using a little opposite rudder and no ailerons it pulled out almost instantly (okay, the rotation stopped and I could drop the nose and fly out).

Twist 60

I had a twist 40, and really liked it. Unfortunately, I still have... the wing. You guessed it, I found the weak spot in the fuse. Does the 60 have that same weak spot?

RE: Death spin

I think what did it was I power up while going down and tried to get a flat spin. When I tried to recover I used opposite aileron and down (I was already throttled up). I'll try the rudder next...

Death spin

My Joss Stick (which has weak ailerons) is VERY difficult to get out of a spin. Is that a cg problem or common for dihedral trainer/stick type planes?
Thanks

RE: "New" Joss Stick

Mine has two aileron servos, but one servo linked to both flaps. I'm thinking connecting the flaps to the ailerons and forgetting the flaps might help. Then again, I might throw in an OS 60 I have...
