RE: GEE BEE R3 RACER??WOW!!!

I saw this past weekend that Hobby-Lobby had pushed the date back to July 11th but on Thursday they modified it to say "Available Now" so I called - I had pre-ordered - my order was #26 in line - I...

RE: GEE BEE R3 RACER??WOW!!!

I just received my Donuts Models Gee Bee from Hobby-Lobby.com and it is VERY NICE. There are a few too many efforts to make it light weight in my opinion but that is an overcome able issue as I want...

RE: f-27 stryker

RayRay,

The Fusion paint for plastic does not work as well as the regular Krylon. I use the Green Painters Tape. The blue and purple don't work as well.

Several light coats work better than...

RE: f-27 stryker

RayRay,

Don't think you will be able to without rudder input on the 4 point roll... the delta makes it even harder.

I completed a new paint scheme on the Stryker to match my Kolb Firefly...

RE: f-27 stryker

That is the technique I use for every launch. Full up trim and full power - gentle level toss and it climes out fine. This on low rates BTW. Once flying I switch to high rates.

Works every time...

RE: f-27 stryker

The fuselage comes with the wingtips and they are already attached. It comes with the nose as well. Both typically are unpainted. No hatches come with it and the bulkhead that the battery cover snaps...

RE: f-27 stryker rules

Not sure if the packing foam is the same as the plane. I did not even test it first on anything but the plane - and I was committed at that time! The cans of Krylon that I used did not say anything...

RE: f-27 stryker rules

I used Krylon - good old rattle can paint. It seems to coat and fill well. It did not attack the foam. I did a light dusting with Matte Finish (Krylon) to seal everything. The Balsa Filler I used...

f-27 stryker

Figured I would add my custom paint job to the mix. I sanded down the original body, used lightweight putty to fill in the cracks and finished with custom paint. I figure it is slightly heavier than...

RE: GP GEE BEE

Jeff,

Mine has the PIO tendency, yet it is a tad bit tail heavy... I think it is the design. My best landing was dead stick... a scary feeling! I just added robo struts and will fly it this...

RE: Kyosho Gee Bee Z CG

I balanced mine per the instructions... it flies fine. Keep the throws per the manual... too much elevator will cause it to snap even if it is nose heavy... I tried just to see. I added an OS 70 FS...

RE: GP GEE BEE

Well, bad news and good news…

The Gee Bee flew fine with the 30cc gas modification. The bad news is that it fell out of the air… literally from about 4 feet of altitude and crashed...

Mine is on the building board with all of the major assembly done.
