MKS DS480 I highly recommend this servo its lighting fast, has the same amount of torque as the hitec and weighs a little less. I'm using this one on my HK450 tail with a G401B gyro and its amazing!!!

+1 on the traxxas cvd's but i also had problems with blowing rear diffs after doing it the traxxas mod so i replace the diffs with nova aluminum diffs and no worries now

If the cost of replacement is a problem i did a brushless tail on mine with a HH gyro all in all after it was all together it was only about $50. I used a towerpro 12 amp brushless esc from hobbycity...

Sounds like your tail motor is going, if you bought it used then it is something that definetly needs to be replaced. The reason it spins counter clockwise is because of the main rotors torque...

The head is a bell hiller on the cpv3 vs the old cp non bell hiller so some of the head parts will work but not all of them.
