I have started putting together a www.3DFoamy.com SU 26 MX. So far it looks pretty good. It is 4.3 oz so far. It will be my usual GWS 350D, 1200 Kokam, 3 HS55's, and it will have landing gear. All up weight with paint should be around 12.5 oz.

Hey I just finished mine here are some specs.
himax 2015-5400
C.C. pheonix 10 esc
GWS D (6.6:1) gearing
13x6.5 GWS prop
TP 1300 2s
It weighs 11.9 oz with no landing gear.
Havent flown it yet the weather wont let me, but I spooled it up in the garage and I think it will hover at half throtle.
Ok had to edit this I just flew the plane it does every thing nice the only thing I didnt like is that it tourqe roll while hovering real bad I had almost full right aleron in it to get it to stop. Im going to try a 11x4.7 prop with tp 1300 3s to get the thrust I need with the smaller prop.hopefuly that will take care of the tourqe problem.

Hey Guys,
Its not the 3dfoamy.com SU but mine is the backyardfoamy.com SU-31. I haven't flown it yet still need to cut the prop shaft for the prop adaptor.
Himax 2025 - 4200
Phoenix 25 esc
GWS Gearbox 66 tooth spur/11 tooth pinion for 6:1
APC 11 x 4.7 prop
GWS 6 channel receiver

Nice plane Mike! After you get it going try a 12x8 GWS prop. I have that motor combo on a 45" Shock flyer and that's the prop. Keep plenty of gears on hand because the Himax like to chew up pinions.

Well I built another SU26, this time I put the wing in the right place [:@]. I printed out the tile plan this time, it came out to 37 1/2" span, that was ok, I want to go alittle smaller anyway. I moved all the hinge lines 1/4" forward and moved the inboard ends of the ailerons in a bit too. AUW 12.2 oz, with GWS D gear box, Brushed Orion Baja (Lose mini T, truck) upgrade motor. 3 HS55, TP1320 3S batt. CS 12 ESC, GWS 4 ch Rx, 1 1/4" MPI wheels, 1/8" carbon tube gear legs.
I'll fly it later today

Flight report:
It flys great, does some pretty incredibal snaps, hover/harrier all day long, climbing inverted flat spins, does have a far amount of knife edge coupling required, harrier rolling circles etc, roll rate is faaaast. It looks pretty cool in air although I'm NOT real crazy about the color..... like the green/white better.
This thing snaps so hard I threw the battery off in flight. I always used the hard plastic to hard plastic style velcro. I think I'm going add a zip tie from now on. I was about 50' up just tossing it around to see if I could brake it and I saw the TP 1320 falling to the ground. Major bummer. Time will tell if the battery will be ok or not. The plan did a realy nice blender like spin the ground. The CG with no battery is only slightly more tail heavy. When the battery left I was at full aileron, full rudder, and full nose down. The only damage to the airplane was the aileron horns where loose. I flew it again last night in front of my house with a different battery, its all good. I'm going to fly indoors tonight.

Hey there, I'm working on putting together the Su26mx from 3dfoamy as well.
I was wondering if the added side profile helps with wing rock in relation to the main fuse? I had built the Sukhoi from foamyfactory but the wing and tail wobbled so much I put diagonal bracing between them, I was wondering if I needed to do the same with this one?
Also, are you guys flying two aileron servos, and if so how are you attaching them? (sinking them in, or surface mounting them on the bottom.
I'm covering it with a pretty light vinyl decal material, and it looks great. I'll see if I can get some pics on here.

I surface mount all my servo's except the aileron servo, Use hot glue and stick them to the vert and hort parts of the fuselage.
I ran 1 aileron servo, cut out the fuselage and mounted centered. The trick is the pushrod angle is extream, so if you dont want a Whole bunch of differentail aileraon through (more down than up...) you need to use a "X" servo horn and use the two forward arms, position the servo and aileron horns so the rods are at 90 degrees to the servo horn arm. Worked good.

I only had 1 problem with it, a brush pig tail got hung and didn't let the brush travel as the brush wore, an easy field repair.
Performace is Very good, running "D" gear box, I have flown airplanes from 10.6 ox to 12.6 oz, propped from 10x4.7 to 12x6. Running Kokam 1200 or TP1320 (this battery is the #*%@) I love it, I flew my mini flip (10.6 OZ on a 12x6 prop) for 14 miniutes indoor 3D, I was a reck at the end of that.
I should note that I did retime it a bit, used the 2 AA battery, sound method.I must admit I have gone to brushless, Himax 2015, 4100 in the same gear box, I did this for several reasons, mostly I was looking more duration, it does have alittle more power, but not a hole lot more. I also wanted to be able to run 2 aileron servos and my brushed speed control was max out already. For the extra $80 or so, if you can swing it, I'd go with the himax, if not the Orion Baja is a GREAT MOTOR to replace your sick GWS motor.
