Well, I thought i'd asked all the questions!!
I now have the hinges to do... any knack of being able to control where the cyano goes using the hinges? I don't want to spoil the covering job!!
I'm clumsy at the best of times, and a test with one of the cyano hinges, using that pacer hinge glue pulls wood out before anything fails, so I might just use that!!
Anyone want to sound alarm bells?
Regards,
Steve

if your using the i h hinges then just use thin cyano and let it soak in, only use little runs at a time and you can see the hinge soak it up.

use one of those extenders for the top of the bottle. this will give a much more precise placing of were you want the cyno so it doent go everywere and make the covering horrible

Yep eddys bang on.
Ran the Ys 160 again today, the thing still wont stop even when the throttle is closed right to the stop. It will hold an idle of 1500 but wont stop![:-]
Having said that i have never seen an engine go so well with only 3/4 of a gallon through it.

Not long to go now,
Had the YS140 running today, all set up now, soooo easy to do...
Set high end needle midway between too rich and too lean
Set idle needle until fuel stops p1ssing out the carb at idle
Set Regulator to get moderate amounts of smoke during transition (slightly proud )
drops to 2k rpm in an instant. throttle reacts instantly! like an electric motor
richened it up a bit though to be kind to it for the first few flights!
Nearly ready to test fly!

Steve

Good news is the Ys problem is solved it now stops fine. Gave me a bit of a shock when the engine visibly coughed(but kept running) once during an inverted elevator with zero airspeed but apart from that its going really well. Lots of punch out from the hover and good downline breaking with the 19x8. With 3/4trs of a gallon through it and the valve springs still to be re-adjusted its turning the 19X8W @ 7500. I think this engine is the perfect choice for this plane. Pattern is effortless and hovering is done at half power even with 40% expo on the throttle.

Theres a screw that stops the throttle from closing completely. It just needed adjusting a little more to allow the carb to completely close.

What! You mean the idle screw that all motors have Luke?
Not that anybody uses them nowadays.Glad to hear it is going well now.I was flying a G-trick with a YS 110(that I got off Pete the other day) today and the motor was awesome.I had run four ounces of juice through it on the bench and it fired straight up and gave no problems all day.The owner was well inpressed,Says he's not gonna get any other type of engine now!

I'm running the YS110 on the Capiche90 - a superb combination. The motor has loads of power, instant throttle response, and is completely reliable. I havent had to touch idle or regulator at all. It hauls the 8lb model effortlessly turning a 16 x 6 apc at 9300.
