Well two of three boxes arrived today
.
Unfortunately the most important one, ie with all the wood, plans etc, was the one box that did not arrive.
I opened the box with the Canopy in first, and the only way to describe it is HUGE [sm=spinnyeyes.gif] it is absolutely ENORMOUS. I can see now why it needed its own box
. Anyway, I unwrapped it and it was looking good. No scratches dents or marks at all. So I quickly got to re wrapping it in bubble wrap and put it away before I dropped it or something.
I opened the other box, which had the cowl, spats and undercarriage. Again all looking good. I didn't take the spats out of their wrapping, but did look at the cowl and u/c. Again both looked purrrrfect. All carefully re wrapped in bubble wrap and put away.
I wont be able to start on it now till next weekend (it is going to my parents house, too big for my flat [
]), but nevermind. May pop down during the week to gawp at it.

No such luck for me yet.
Dont worry ASm you will see a C140ex before sandown.
My dads now retired so hes got loads of time to do some building.......expect he will churn it out quite quickly once he gets going.

I expect Lukes will be finished before mine [
].
Not only will I have to do a big chunk of the building at my parents (all of fuz, plus wings probably, but not sure yet) but April and May are my busiest times in the office [:@]. If I do get any free time at the weekends, flying will be first priority.
However will have a few days extra free in March

Sprink: surly if the wings ae plug in ones you can make em at your own flat/house. The C50 wings are 56" and if the C140 is a 78" span (2 meter) that means the wing panels will be less then 39" a pair, you see?

For us US residents Chip Hyde is releasing a plane that looks similar to the Capiche 140... Note that these are different planes altogether, yet would fall in the same class of flight characteristics I'd think... This one is 85" and 14-15 lbs for a 50cc gas engine...
I've been eyeing the Capiche 140 for sometime now, but looks like limited availablility in the states???
Still hope to hear of some US distributor for the Capiche 140... but in the meantime this "Vision 3D" looks as if it may offer similar opportunities...

New pots of CA bought on Saturday from LHS. Old ones thrown away, including one unopened (don't know how long I have had it, but at least 4 months, probably a lot longer) no chances this time.
Maudib, Chips planes do look good, but seem primarily designed for Gas. Gas is not big in the UK, we dont have the space you do for big planes![

Ultimate-like fin also looks like its been added as a after-thought. Sure there will probably be some vids out sometime for this as per his other planes so will be interesting to see it in action.

Just been skim reading the instructions. Definately building the wings in my parents garage, no way I could do a good job on the floor of the second bedroom
. On the other hand does not sound too complicated.
Right, I have got to order some profilm. 10 metres will not be cheap [

Got the CNC cut wooden parts box in the post today yipeeeee!
Those control horns are HHHHUUUGGE!That composite wing joiner tube is quite something.
Couldn't stop laughing when i saw the sticker set its absolutely brilliant! Nads de Chien!
Dave, Ali how did you set up your linkage for your single servo operating the elevator?
what do you think of dual elevator cranks? here is a link of what i am tallking about
http://www.probuild-uk.co.uk/product...t_id=7&man_id=
it can cator for Fuselage widths 1 7/8 - 2 3/16 inches and Fuselage widths 1-3/16 to 1-7/16 (two different sizes)
Do you think its a good idea? Only thing i'm currently worried about is that this means that you have 2 x the amount of linkages going from the servo to the control surface. Must be quite sloppy control?

I had a very expensive Cap 232 from a canadian company that had the MK unit you are talking about. First flight it fell to pieces and i had to land with no elevator (by by undercart and bottom of fuz!!)
they are ok for pattern but you will not get enough movement (you want min. off 65 degrees)
my 140 has a simple "staple" like the 50, out if 4mm piano wire with a 4mm bolt brazed to it pointing downwards in the middle of the fuz with a pete tindal 6mm carbon pushrod (full lenth and supported half way down the fuz)
