funnily enough I was thinking about the capiche elevator linkage last night
my c50 used the elevator staple as Dave has mentioned, but an alternative could be a closed loop system for elevator just like the Hype 3D uses. Slop free, and probably a bit lighter. ( you wouldnt need that long push rod and beefy elevator staple)

A parcel addressed to Nick Sprink arrived today!!
It is shaped like a small coffin.

Pete Tindal. Order now placed. Cheaper than elsewhere, but not cheap.
I have found that pete Tindals is by far the cheapest for profilm. and it is much beter being able to but it in 1/2 meter lengths ,saves wasteage

Absolutely the way to go. Big JR servo in the canopy area with a direct drive P Tindal pushrod!! Bomb proof and simple.
I would advise against two servos at the back. Who wants 5 ozs whipping about at the back when it,s not necessary. Apart from Archie

May go for two servos in the fuz and two push rods. Havent decided yet, depends on CoG balance. Dont want to add lead if not necessary.
Profilm arrived - that was quick

Ed, quick calc suggests my C140 will cost around £900. But bear in mind I already have a YS 120. And PCM rx. And engine mount.

Just got all the bits in the post. You only get a true feeling of SIZE when youve got the monster cowl and canopy in your hands!
This pic is of all the bits you get with the deluxe kit plus a few more expensive bits and pieces ( Ys 140l, Moki ,FF9, hatori)
Got my C50 in the background for size comparison. This things gonna be big!

Unpacked all the stuff today. Looking good. I have cut out the fuz parts, and with a bit of luck will assemble it tomorrow.
Need to work out how to do the plug in tail, but looks like it should be quite easy and straight forward. Not sure if I will do a build thread or not, if I do I'll do it in the kit building forum.
Been thinking (always dangerous [&:]) about whether to put the two elevator servors up front instead of out back. Not sure now. Also was talking with 3drcheli at the field today about exhausts etc. Thinking of seeing whether my Hatori incowl muffler would work, which would save a few bob. Trouble is it is designed for the engine to be side mounted. Well we'll see.

Also the problem is that there isnt a pipe tunnel, which is something i really wanted. It is also going to be more difficult than it looks to incorporate because you have to work your way round the formers. How hot do these pipes get? Will i need to heat treat the fuz if i make a pipe tunnel inside the fuz?
Thanks
Thanks

without adequite cooling they do get hot,i pesonally would leave it on the outside but thats just me,but make sure you do get the air to escape if you mount it inside.

Managed to dry assemble the fuz this afternoon, and have glued F1. I'm surprised how little there is to join the engine box to F1, so will definately do the fillets as suggested.
My current in cowl silencer wont fit, don't have time to build a pipe tunnel, so think I will get one of the other hattori incowl silencers. Still not sure though. Otherwise it is a Just Engines pipe on the outside.

Built the basic fuse, all slots together pretty easily, no challenges there at all. Just make sure it's all nice and square before gluing the sides and formers together, we used a jig to hold it all and kept it in the jig when we sheeted the top and bottom of the fuse. Not because of a problem, but because we thought a little bit of support for such a light structure wouldn't go amiss.
Here's the fuse with the rear sheeted and the engine box in. To give you an idea of the size of this gorgeous beast, that's a 2ft steel rule at the lower front.
Not decided yet whether to make to the whole top, from forward of the canopy, back to behind it a one piece hatch, though I know Baron's a bit against the idea, but it'd make it a doddle to put together at the field.
We'll be putting a standard Saito 180GK in it and depending on final weight, maybe a smoke system.
I think Archie's mentioned it before, but we're doing it as an on-line build here.

St Neots MFC Edible, bit further up norf for you soft southerners eh? http://www.cki.btinternet.co.uk/snmfc/
Fancy a bit formation flying with two Capiche's then when they're finished? Your place or mine?
Oh and for those of you not in the UK there's a bit of a north south divide type banter and EE and me are about 30 miles apart, so it's a joke OK?

Watford Edible!! You are either above or below
Made Colin a staple today for his. He should get it tomorrow
That price for the 15k JR servo is very cheap specially with the weak $
If the boy swears by it, it will be my first JR servo [:-]
Archie will you be bringing them in??

Still haven't decided whether to go for a pipe or a in cowl muffler.
Pipe give better noise reduction and performance
In cowl gives a neater look, and does not get in the way of the hatches. Also moves weight forward which may be helpful if it is supposed to be tail heavy with servos in the tail.
Decisions decisions[:@]
