OK i will look into getting a 140fz.
That westonuk silencer looks like a good option to go with to get noise down to a good level if its a problem.

Well it looks like all the EMC crowd are getting the C140. I still haven't decided yet - but so so close.

Talking engines for it. How would a Laser150 stand up for this type of plane ?
I have one in a Great Planes Super Skybolt which weight about 10lb and it rockets that about using a Graupner 16*8 (no idea on revs though). This is cheap to run because it prefers 0% nitro - and I have already got one with silencer system down to 80dB. I would probably switch to an 18*6 APC to get more static thrust.

But a YS140 is rather tempting - especially if they would run well on 15% Bekra Heli fuel.

why ruin the lines of the bottom of the model with a long pipe? You don't get any power benefits (or need any!).
But it does keep the noise down. We are stuck with an 80 db noise limit! I'd build it with a pipe tunnel to keep the pipe out of sight.

Hmm, Laser 150? Would be interesting choice. Probably would work, and would be cheap to run

mmm some comments

Weston Silencer... Yup Ive used a few of their systems before and been pleased with them. IH already sell their products and they make the Capiche 50 Mini Pipes for us, so I dare say their system will be offered as an alternative for the 140, plus the engine mounts I expect. - In fact Arnie, can you email me that picture?

Laser... Not a big fan of these really but I have noticed that whilst they will run on zero nitro, I dont agree that they prefer it.. the engine has been designed to run on zero nitro adequately but give it 10% or more and you will notice a difference, particularly around atmospheric / temperature / needle sensitivity...

There's just no getting away from it... if you want fuss free top performance from ANY fourstroke, you gotta use Nitro.

Baron, 20-30cc in the C50... mm bit of a gaff that eh !

I know there are a few that are overpowering their C50's but that is a bit extreme... of course I meant the C140.

Awards dinner tonight and I have to look over the Next Capiche plans to see what needs altering for a test production run...
NOPE ! DONT ASK.... Im not saying ! But if it works as I hope, it will be another class of model in which it will stand head and shoulders above the rest..... and we already have the power plants chosen to test em !

If you don't want us to ask, don't say things like that!!![:@]

Working on the basis that only 20 size and 90 size is left, must be one of these. Maybe a new home for my 91 FX is on its way?

heheehe for some reason, i'm tempted to say neither of these sizes.
tho i do know of a 90 sized one. ( not a 50 with a 90 )
and i have a feeling Malc would like to re-visit the 20 size one day

Ian, sad to say im not surprised, when the C50 first came out you were all keen on that and gonna get one, it didn't happen, then the 140 appeared and you wanted one of them, but now can't afford, dad's gotta pay anyway. i'd go for the 50 if i was you and at least get something from your months of pining and constant 'i'm gonna get'

As it happens Luke I have a 7\8 finished mini 40" version for my Hacker B20 and poly liths as soon as the Funfly wing and the plans of the 140 are finished I will have time to finish it but I very much doubt it will ever be kitted!!! The airframe weighs 6ozs!! I,ll post a piccie when shes finished.

Phill, nanananana, i pay for all my modeling stuff, dad dont pay nout. Honest. I wanted somthing bigger than 50 size you see. Ive already had about 5 planes in that sort of size. Ive flown loads of 2M planes and they fly sooooo much better. So thats why i want one. Im am allowed one if i get the money. So im off to scour the local newspapers for a job.

Will there be a plan for the hacker B20 40'' capiche?
I would LOVE to have one of those! I have been looking for a nice model of that size for electric brushless for quite some time!

Edible, trust me the 3DX is not a patch on what malc is flying at the moment (hacker B20 powered) I have both and so has Ali and theres no comparison. the 3DX is a TOTALLY different kettle of fish compared to what Malc has up his sleeve on this one.

BACK on subject.

I put the new wings on the Capishe 140 electric tonight and they just look right!! Also strengthened up the bulkhead joint a bit with 1/4" square balsa as that 20" prop likes to use Gyroscopic effect to try to tear itself off the front of the plane! I hope to get out and fly it in the next couple of days so its ready for when i pop down to malcs place for a play

i will let you know how i get on

Dave

Sorry, all sleep cancelled until you give us everything we want (tiny micro indoor to 40% size, and every possible combination in between)

Keep up the good work (and less time on here, I want my C140 before Xmas)
