I flew my C140 to day and on the first flight in a month the last time i flew it at about 6 metres high but today i did a harrier 1 metre off te ground.i then did a torque roll very low (easy) and sussed the schedule for the the comp tomorrow in 2 flights.

ORIGINAL: Sprink
Harriers have a bit of wing rock, but not too much, but can be a bit nasty in the transition from elevator to harrier. Also has a tendancy to steer to the right (may be a bit too much side thrust? dont think so though).

dont know whats nasty about the elevator to harrier though? May require a little bit of correction to counteract the increase in revs of the torquey YS.strange about steering to the right. mine tacks dead straight.
have found that it does require a fair amount of up in the hover though, but can do an awesome BIG tailslide including half a roll with the C of G right back now. shame cant do it everytime though!

anyway good luck everybody tomorrow at the freestyle comp. ive dislocated my thumb tonight so flying should be interesting[&:]

Archie, Mike didn't make it, but Nathan FJ ended up flying Luke's as well as Luke. The C140 certainly did excel today. One C50 in the Advanced class as well.

Well the neoprene spacer in bettween the u/c and plane body of the C140 seems to make a big difference in absorbing landings. harrier landings no probs at all now

Nice flying Luke, i liked your flying to music to, but it had to be much lower to score big points, if the judges dont think you nearly crashed at least 4 times in a flight they aint impressed. also your "Halo factor" is not fully developed but this wil come with time
Nathens flight to music was realy good too.
well done all!!

Kane, Adam, no one pointed out to you yet that your under carriages are on the wrong way round? They are supposed to rake backwards, not forwards

ali put them on backwards not us but my dad says it will be better and stronger on a harrier landing having it forwards.
