No build page because i forgot to take piccies!
If anyone really wants a build page then send your build pics to me and i'll do one![8D]
Should hopefully get a 140vid done soon - just have to sort out some worrying glitching first! It gave full down and then full up on 3d rates a couple of times yesterday[X(][X(][X(] Thought the whole tail was coming off!
I'm very suprised because using these multiplex IPD recievers i havent had a single glitch in two years worth of flying even on adjacent frequencies to someone else[
] Have heard that the kempton park site can give intereference though so i'll try and see if i can get the glitch at elmbridge.
PS
Kane have you gone up in that pitts yet?

Luke,
Why not PCM on this model??
The last case of glitching on an intelligent pulse type RX I came across turned out to be a flaky pot on the TX, as it was always the same channel affected..
The TX was a 9c, so not a cheapy either....
IPD Rxs tend to only move on receipt of a valid signal....
Try a thorough range test on the deck to see if you can recreate it!!
Regards,
Steve

The reason i didnt go for PCM is because it costs more and goes immediately into failsafe if you get intereference. The IPD is supposed to filter it out and then apply the most recent control inputs if it gets any worse (cant remeber the specifics)
I tried about five range checks with the model at all attitudes but couldnt re-create the effect. I'm suprised because IPD is supposed to iron out clitches. I was told afterwards that numerous people at the kempton site lose their planes to interference even with PCM, so it may just be a fluke.
Will get the TX checked.................when you say flaky do you mean dirty?
I also heard about Welsh 3d's tx wires coming out due to too much 3d stick bashing (
) so will check them too!
PS NEW c140EX PAGE UP WITH BUILD PICCIES!

Only advantage with PPM is it tells you if there is low level interferance.

Eddie,
I've NEVER had a glitch flying IC (now that's asking for it)
The only time i've gotten glitches is when I've been flying electric... some brushless escs can really shorten range at 35Mhz... seems the US made stuff only gets tested so it doesn't interfere with 72Mhz!!!

Steve

My plane is glitch central. Need to send reciever off or get a new one! Quite upsetting to get full down on 3D rates every time the plane goes past the end of my aerial!

i think what he means is that if your plane is set up with severe throws and even if you are flying on reduced rates the glitch will just bang the servo over so it is far more severe on a plane set up for 3D

Its.. um.. bright!
Berk - Yeah i ment that any glitch on a plane with 3D movements is pretty tasty (wot da boy sed). Even if the interference/loss of signal or whatever is for a very short time. Changed my receiver and the prob went away so need to send old one off. It only happens when you fly across the end of the aerial (when the signal is wekaest) - i.e. if you point the aerial directly at the plane (which you're not supposed to do i know). Trouble is i've held my transmitter the same way for 13 odd years so its difficult to change habbit. Need one of them trannys with an adjustable aerial on a ball joint thing at the base. A tranny with balls...!
oh dear!
And why is it always full down elevator in the glitch????? typical.
