Aye the cowl. Got some pink paint out of Halfords and it was an exact match for the pink solarfilm so went ahead and painted it. Unfortunately when it dried it went much more red so it doesn't match very well. Actually looks not too bad though. Rest is gold and metallic blue. I left some of the carbon showing and then lacquered it.
Bottom looks like this...

Feminine!! This is a mans machine boys!
Its got a 140DZ, AAP power manifold with a PTFE joiner. Thats an old two stroke pipe from Phil Williams but it didnt like it so put I put it on my trusty Hatori 693.
First flew it on an L but it was pants. Goes pretty good on the DZ but you'd be struggling to do any kind of F3A manouvers in a wind.
Angus
ps Its def gold on the cowl i assure you [sm=sunsmiley.gif]

OH I don't know what to do with mine, whether to go 140rx or YS 1.40 or C50, I love the sound of glow, but not the deadstick and love the simplicity of electric but not the waiting around. [&:]

Suprised by your comments angus about the C140 being pants with the 140L - mine goes very well now ive got the right prop on it - it enough for pattern, but would want more for blasting out of the hover a little bit more. Ive got an APC 17x8N on my 140L.
Kane ive got a Multiplex Mini DS IPD 9ch reciever in my 140 and 50.
Oh what if any differential are people using on ailerons? I dont have any in, but was wondering if anyone has had any improvments experimenting with this?

Lookin good Kane. You guys should do synchro.
My plane is about 10.5 lbs. Started it off on an L on 17X8 but it just didnt seem to have enough punch out of the prop hang. Now got DZ on 17X10 and its much better. Got 18X8 im going to try this weekend if the weathers ok.
Think its mainly to do with all the drag of the big nose and the massive main gear as my Synergy is only about 5oz lighter and on a DZ its near ballistic. Its an excellent plane for the 3D stuff but ive done a bit of F3A with it and as you're flying much faster the drag then becomes an issue. Didnt buy it to do F3A anyway so it does'nt really matter, was just an observation.
Angus
ps got +15% differential (15% less down than up i suppose) on my 10X and its rolls much more axially. Hope this helps

Yeah angus i experienced the same thing when i had the standard 17x8. The 17x8N is much better for 3d-better throttle responce and more power.

Oh right, didnt know that. Seems good on a DZ anyway so im just going to leave that in it. Pipe is Hatori 693.
Got a R1000DP JR rx with Fut 9204's on Ail, 2X 9402 elev and 9206 on rudder. Would of used JR digis but i could'nt afford them so i just used those Futabas i had spare. Its running on 5cell Ni-Mh regulated down to 5.8V. Really enjoying flying it.

HELP!!!!!!
Just covered Horizontal Stabs and Rudder with this Pearly white Profilm, and they feel significantly heavier!
Should I tear it off and use plain White....
I've got lots of ordinary white as well as pearly white, but the pearly white does look nice....
If I carry on with this pearly white will I end up with a too heavy airframe??!!
Advice please!!
Thanks!!
Steve

pearl white 69 grm2
taken from the oracover website (same thing) plain white is heavier than pearl white by the looks of it, so stop panicking, thats my job.

Why not strip it off and put on Solarfilm fluorescent pink
Profilm is one of the best but i/we always use solarfilm as its significantly lighter. Would only really use Profilm for a petrol plane or for hinging if i was to use a film hinge.

Foofy,
Thanks for the weights... I lost sleep last night (sad but true) over that.. cos It went on lovely and I wasn't looking forward to taking it off.. rubbing down to 1200 really paid off!!
I guess the parts are so light to start with that even adding covering adds noticable weight!!
Panic over, and thanks once again!!
No building tonight.... making a space in the garage ......

Steve

Well good news is that the interference i got earlier was a one off.
The C140ex's control surfaces are now behaving themselves unless ordered not to

berk, the way the plane is designed, the covering forms at least 50% of the airframe strenth and because of the open structure woodwork about 50% of the airframe full stop so stick with the profilm, the plane was designed to be covered in profilm and if mine was covered in solarfilm i probably would not fly it for 3 reasons 1 it would not be strong enough to fly extreem manouvers 2 have you seen what 30% nitro can do to solarfilm!! and thirdly i am renound for a bit of "hanger rash" with my planes. Solarfilm punctures just by looking at it!![sm=thumbdown.gif]
