You make a good point in that every RC pilot is not a homeowner, but you have to admit that my point is valid. What is the purpose of the insurance if I have to use my homeowners first? Yes the forum is evolving but I think it’s good information to know. I’m sure many pilots are asking the same question I’m asking on this subject.

Hi Guys

We have in the old days been lucky regarding flutter with small aircraft and therefore relatife stiff control systems. As the aircraft got bigger flutter became a problem as the total stiffness of the structure goes down. To cure flutter you must mass balance and seal the control gap, and have a stiff servo-control surface link.

I think it is unfair to call an airframe defect when you are not willing to install the above. Flutter speed depends heavily on the stiffness of the structure. So a small change in the density of wood in the control surfaces can have a major impact on the flutter speed. Changes manufacturers cannot really predict.

So I say: Dont be lazy, seal airtight, mass balance and fly with confidence.

I agree; balancing the surfaces on any plane (model/fullscale) is a smart move.

Hey Guys, I told ya it was the sox in 7!!! Yee Haw!!!!!!
FYI, I did send my Yak back.... I Just don't trust the airframe, and I don't care to do surgery on the elevators to balance them, or add more weight to beef up the landing gear and to compensate for the weight added if I were to balance the elevators.
I got my Dave patrick Edge today, and all I can say Is WOW!!!!

Hi Quique, I read all about you Yak 54. For me is the best plane I ever had. I am from Paraguay and the person who told me to buy this plane, was Marcelo Zini. I said to Marcelo. Thank You for the good recomendation. I Am happy with this plane. I am using the Saito 180 with 18x6w Propeller. Digital servos 811S and for the rudder I am Using 8611. The radio is the PCM JR 9303. Landing this plane is like you put and automatic landing. Quieque your plane is exelent.

I have had my 72" Yak for sometime now and just opened it yesterday to start putting it together. Let me say that this is the first ARF I have ever gotten that I did not have to spend time removing wrinkles from the covering. Not one wrinkle! The quality of this kit is better than any ARF I have seen. I can see that a lot of thought went into this plane and I'm very happy with it. I can't wait to get it in the air. I have put together ARF's from Hanger 9, Aeroworks, and Great Planes. All of them have had a problem of some sort. Things such as something as simple as an error in the instruction manual to a wing tube being too large to insert into the wing. Will my Yak be any differant? Only time will tell but I must say I have a good feeling about this plane.

The only other comment I have is to the guy doing a blender at show center. I can sum that up in one word "STUPID". After almost being hit last year by a plane by someone who's ego was larger than thier flying ablility or good judgement I have no time for unsafe pilots. I hope this guy has learned something from this but my guess is it was all the plane's fault.
