Hi Wayne!
Yeah... I wouldn't trust my plane or my cameraman... uh... I mean girlfriend<g>... to any other motor. :-)
It would be great to hang out with you... you're welcome to fly my planes when you're out. :-)

Hi Chris!
Digital video cameras can upload video to your PC using a firewire port. I haven't found a cheap one yet, though.
Most of the videos we've taken are on compact VHS tapes. My neighbor has been kind enough to convert them to AVI files for us. Then I edit them in MS Movie Maker and post them.
I hope to get a digital video camera soon so I won't have to bother my neighbor all the time. :-)

Hello JB and All, well we have a nice dig camera but my ancient computer here will not handle all that new fancy stuff - bummer !
And i am also not able to view any of the files from your web site either - super bummer ! But then maybe it is better this way as I will not be to jealous then ! LOL ! Keep havin FUN doing the 3D thing !! I will be gettin even less stick time on the Cappy now as Chris loves it even more since flying with Johnny Rebel and his brother Chris. What a sweet and FUN plane ! Rod & Chris in PA.

Hi David!
An hour and 20? That ain't nothing. Come on over anytime... it will be fun. I let an 11 year old (Tom) break in my new DA-100 for me on Sunday. This plane is that easy to fly. You're going to love it! :-)

Guy's this may or may not help anybody but try it. I basicly suck at torque rolling, but found it to be much easier if I concentrate on looking at the nose of the plane only. For some unknown reason this seems to make control input in the correct direction come more natural. Of course I only have two functional brain cells left.

Hi guys,
Yesterday morning I made a breakthrough in TR'ing. While practicing on RC Pilot sim I realized several things that combined were preventing me from TR'ing.
1) The TR is a real rolling maneuver, and has less to do with hovering than rolling. The only differences are that there's no forward speed and no aileron held to TR.
2) Although I can do nice slow rolls, consecutive rolls, and point rolls, I only know how to do them to the RIGHT. So when this thing starts torquing to the left I still give it the same timing and commands as a right roll, which explains why I have been dropping out and giving the wrong rudder.
3) Up until now I was thinking of the TR as a hover where the plane spins. The minute I started to think of the TR as a vertical roll that goes nowhere due to hover power only being used, I could easily get the stick moved in the correct direction, and somewhat correct amplitude (that will take practice), and I could envision rolling consecutively and indefinitely. The average number of consistent TR's that I could pop out jumped all the way to 3, and I was flying out of them, not dropping out. I have pushed my max to 5 consecutive TR's, up from 4, but now the difference is that I can follow the top of the plane around as it rolls. I have started to practice all my rolls to the left, especially left rolling circles. My problems now have to do with maintaining hover throttle and general overcorrections. I have made more progress on TR'ing in the past month than in the previous year. I'm very close to really doing the TR consecutively. I traded out the Freestyle for a Sig Somethin Extra and I just bolted in a YS .45 with 12.25 x 3.75 APC prop. It was hovering ok with an OS .40SF and 11x3 prop but barely pulled out vertically. I will post my progress. This is a lot of fun!

to all TR specialists.
curious about the servos you use, especially servospeed of ruder, elevator servo and throttle servo.
i am new to TR. all i have been able to do till now, is to hover for a few seconds. but it seems that my servos are too slow, or is it me?

Its you! I have hovered many of planes with 3003 and one even had a SLOW rudder and it was fine. The speed of your servos and amount of throw determine how far ahead of the plane you need to be. DOnt be with the plane correcting it! you need to know what it is going to do and why it is doing it and then you will see much more progression.
