Don't know whether putting your aerial through a ferrite coil is a good idea, though they were meant to stop recieved signals, meaning that you put long extension leads (which may act like aerials and confuse the reciever) through them.

Well thanks anyway, 'cause I've always done ARTF, I suppose a snake is a somesort of tube. So during the building process I am going to have to cyano some straws in somehow somewhere. I may drill a few holes in the formers.
Alternatively I may do a crap job of that, one excellent method of external mounting I have seen is drilling a small hole on the underside of the model and exiting some fuel tube through there. Then by using a rubber band tie the rubber band onto a part of the tail wheel and the arial onto the rubber band. Its the most neatest way I have come across so far of external mounting, to me better than canopy to fin thingy.
I prefer to use some fuel tubing where the airal exits the fuz, and also to loop the arial through a spare or broken servos arm. Even though the wire is soldered in the receiver, I prefer to have a more rigid method of stopping it from getting yanked out.
Thnaks for your help guys. I'll see how the plastic straw internal thing goes. I'll use a ferrite ring on the extension lead too. Btw where can I get ferrite rings?
Cheers
Shahid

Shahid: snake inner runs in a snake outer. i use them for throttles but some sport planes use them for the other controls, however on a 3D plane i woulnt go nearthem. basically there plastic tube which you threat the arial thru. im going to run mine thru the fuz on the bottom of the former were there is a slot. a drop of cyno and it usually stayes there

Yep, well straws would do as good. But if you going to have a snake you'd have to cyano it very early on to get it glued in. Maybe one drip at each end might do it, but im not cutting the end of my Capiche! If an internal arial is just for looks then I might do the external underneath job, you can see it when its underneath anyway.

Hi all, I have just finished my capiche after having bought it a year ago at Sandown
not much into building rather be flying, but now its ready to go and my CG is 10mm back from the furtherest back position on the plan is that too far back or can it take a little more than shown on the plan? I could fit a bigger battery as I only have 4.8v 900mah at the moment. I have an Irvine 53 up front but elevator and rudder servos at the tail. All carbon cowl, gear and canopy.

So any chance of some photos? What about final stats (weight, engine etc).

I would agree with Sprink
Teh guidance given on the instruction is factual not conservative.
You should get your battery up behind the firewall.
Pay attention to the control throws too - this pics you see here and on the website with massive throws are on a switch only anhd for stalled manouvres, not general flying.!
Pics of you model and stats would be of interest!

ok I'm at 138mm so with a slightly bigger battery I'll be 135mm or less so that should be ok to start with, and I won't need those bicycle clips lol, thanks for your help! I'll post a pic as soon as my black spinner arrives and we get some sun. Its dead on 5lbs with an Irvine 53. I am so looking forward to flying it now, after a year of just looking at the plans.

Yes I have my battery at the firewall and thanks for the tip about the throws
on full rates I have 45 degrees on elevator and rudder and D/R'd right down for the test flight and normal flying, S9303 servo on rudder and S9001 on elevator S9601's on ailerons. We have a bad forecast for the whole week so will have to wait till next week for the test flight.

Threshold, as that looks like a Synergy in your avatar, I assume you know what you are doing
. Certainly did not muck around with the servos.
You will enjoy the Capiche, it is a fun plane.

Ah ok. Well your in a different situation to me then Phil. Looks like this conversion to pdf is a bit troublesome.
Yep anyway, thanks! Now I know what bicycle clips can be used for. I never used to get those jokes.
Btw I know this is off topic but you could make an edible engine. Just make it like a chocolate egg. Simple.
