Forgot to mention that it weighs in at 5lb 1oz with an Irvine 53 & Capiche pipe. (the Capiche pipe weighs the same as the standard Irvine pipe).

is it me or is the elevator on backwards? lol
heres my cowl, as you can see lots of room around the head and pipe. you have to twist and turn to get the cowl off but it's not that hard.

A couple of you guys were having problems with your building boards. If you are still struggling and you are going to Wings and Wheels I have some spare pin board and mdf and am willing to bring a board along if anyone wants. Cost you a beer in the beer tent!
Let me know.

Shahid, even 19mm MDF warps on a warped surface so you have to put the board on your wobbly table, and then very carefully sight along and across it (and check end to end) and pack it up with scrap balsa or whatever.I also used a large straight edge across it. I think virtually anything is gonna warp if its put onto something thats not 100% flat. Dont worry about it too much, just be very careful & accurate when you pack it up.

If you want I will laminate the pin board onto 25 mm mdf. This tends to stay pretty flat. I'll check the size we use for Capiche building and pm the size to you tommorrow to make sure it suits your 'table'. Are you going to W and W?

Test run everything today. All ok. Thought i would measure the static thrust of my Irvine 53. I haven't got a tacho yet so cant give any rpm's.
Irvine 53 with 12.25 X 3.75 apc produced 9lbs approx of static thrust. Not bad i thought. Should make my capiche fly well.

Thats about 1.8:1, just what The Boy said it would be like "about 60% throttle"
I fuel proofed that tank bay and the tank height is SPOT ON! YEEEHAAAAH!!!
Ahem, If I could get glass that would so flat mmmmm
I can try packing but I like everything to be purrrrfect, Im still willing to look into that board though.
Yep I will be there Sunday if my lift is still ok with it. Maybe both days.

Shahid: I use a 60" x 15" board to build our Capiches on. If you are going to Wings and Wheels and would like a board laminated up from 1/2 pin board on 3/4" mdf I will bring one. You will obvously need transport and need to carry it back from the pilots camping area without blowing away in this **** wind. Let me know.

Did more work on tank etc, now all fuel lines are exiting the firewall, its all a tight fit though with the IH mount, infact it looks like I may just have to trim away some of the mount, I was wondering though do I really need the cross bars?
Anyway, I got the hole for the throttle hole marked out and it will come out nicely inline with the arm, just need now to get soemthing for a snake (clear fuel tubing maybe) and it will have to wind its way around this and that quite a bit so some sort of solid push rod is out of the question, looks like I will try to find that missing throttle cable, if I can't I'll see what IH can do or skip that as well and pop around the LHS.
Fingers crossed for wings and wheels! They are forcasting wind and rain. Kinda like the weather we had yesterday.
Looked around for throttle run, couldnt find any snake or stuff, will order it from IH when I get money along with 3mm and closed loop controls. Also, the adjustable control horns seems fine and indeed would work fine with the alierons and elevator but I cant see how I could use them for closed loop on the rudder, I may just end up buying 6 raked horns, I like the look of those better.
So until I get some throttle run I can't build, ah well, I sort out the Mirage and get it ready for sale.
Have fun chaps see you at W&W!
