ok, a few pics...
first one spot the diference...

yep, i've not cut out for the canopy, decided to just carry on to get a tiny weeny bit extra strenght seeing as my canopy is blacked out.

second and third, where i've made my pull pull exits inline with the horn and far enough back for clevis, adaptor and movement.

bit confused why you have holes drilled through the soft block?

surely the closed loop can come out lower.. mine does on my 50 e

i think you are too close together... for the geometry to be right you will have a standard - small output arm on the servo

it would come out lower if i had made the horns block lower in the first place, think thats where it is on the plan. maybe it's all the way down, i forget, anyway thats where the holes are, thats where it sits. i will screw out the horns as far as poss, but much more and it'll hit the elevator halfs, no different from the solid pushrod set up from before in that respect
becides, the soft block makes the perfect place to have the guides at a shallow angle, down on the ply that would be alot of wood missing to get a shallow angle, or have to go with a shape angle and have it rub. The blocks arn't effected in anyway by having a hole in them, the fuz might be, just seems the better place to me.
i didn't see any info on the plan for this set up, so i took 20 mins to just think it through, this is what i came up with.

BTW, our show is on the 24/25th July and everyones invited, if your good ( better than us ) and want to be a guest pilot then let me know and i'll pass it on to Steve. hoping it'll be a big one for our 30th year.

All set up now done, ready to go when the weather cheers up a bit . Windy today, forecast is for even more wind tomorrow.

Oh well that is winter flying for you.

3D Control throws as follows:

Rudder: 120mm
Elevator: 75mm
Ailerons: 50mm

Everything is now good to go.

Got in two flights with the Capiche today. It seems that 0.5 degrees extra right thrust for the Saito 72 i think is about right, no up or down.
Mike's advice on harriers was great! Really got them going now- you only need tiny corrections on the wing and rudder to keep it steady.
Might be down at the field tomorrow, if not good luck Sprink!

Got to the field, but no flying done (with the Capiche that is) . Engine trouble - wouldn't start. Then it began to rain .

Managed to get it running this afternoon , but not particularly reliably . So I have given up on the pump. [X(].

Hopefully things will go a bit better next weekend. Thinking about trying to get hold of those Iron Bay regulators . I was thinking of putting in a bulk order, so if anyone else is interested in getting one (or more) let me know and I'll see what can be done.[sm=idea.gif]

On another note, I've been practising torque rolling on my simulator all week[8D]. Starting to get the hang of it . Another club member asked if I had been practising when he saw my flying, especially my rolling circles, so must have helped..

Iron Bay regulators create a pressurised fuel system. http://www.ironbaymodelcompany.com/W...Regulator.html

Basically any engine can have a YS type fuel control system. It is cheaper than the Cline (similar system), plus it includes all the T pieces etc.

Also supposed to work with silencer preasure on 2 strokes as well as 4.

As for my sim, I'm using realflight G2. I downloaded a 3D version of the Ultimate, which is quite easy to torque roll. This is making it easy learn and concentrate on orientation. I was practising again last night, now I can hold it for a minute or two before loosing it, and rarely crash it now even when I do loose it, instead just flying it out which ever orientation it is in.

A few more evenings of that and then I'll have a go on some of the harder planes to torque roll .

And another thing... we are hearing about how great you all are with you Capiches... I need some Freestyle photos for the website too... What makes them freestyle? Well having the ground in shot helps !

Once I have got mine going, I'll try to arrange for some 3D shots to be taken of our planes. I was thinking of formation high alpha knife edge low passes, but that may be a bit beyond my ability at the moment.

And when Andy gets his going, we'll try for a nice big group shot.

As for my photos, they will be with you Archie once I have taken them. I forgot my camera on Saturday, then I forgot my spats on Sunday[sm=bananahead.gif]. Hopefully will remember for next weekend[&:].

PS Archie, any news on when the November news letter is out? I need to book some holiday, and I'm intending to plan it around C140 building.

Yes elmridge club will be very suited to formation capiche flying because its going to have four capiches flying at some point!
Not sure how its going to be organised though.
I wonder what formation moanovres would be the best for formation? formation harrier maybe if we get good enough? Sraight off knife edge should be possible.
Looking forward to it anyway. I will be down there next sunday maybe even with my camera!

Both days if the weather is any good and the engine runs right.[&:]

I've also got my Cap 232 to fly, and I have put an oz of lead on the tail on my Extra and want to try that out as well. I'm hoping it will have improved the knife edge.

I found last Sunday that I can (just) get all three planes in my car. I definately need to get myself a more suitable car though, especially as I intend to get the C140 . Probably trade in my Impressa turbo saloon for the estate version (doesn't look so good, but still just as quick )
