Great color contrast JIMBO!!! Upright Blenders will look choice with that Bumble Bee scheme!

You guys overseas get to have all the fun. How come all the good stuff's over there!!

I've been reading your suggestions and I finally got my hands on a West 50 t1 for my Flip 3D. I'll test it on my SPA3D first, tho. I hope you guys are right about this little powerhouse. I'ts definately the lightest in it's class!

JIMBO

I just took a closer look... yes I see you have used black film around the front which I agree is the only way to blend in something like the carbon cowl.... carbon canopy, spats and uc look well on this model, but you do need to think about the scheme to make a carbon cowl look well, otherwise it can spoil the look.

Please send us a collection of pics by email Jim and we shall get them posted to the site. Only possible thing I would have done diff to you is used carbon film, rather than plane black... its looks the muts.... BUT it cost an arm and a leg ! Thankfully I saw the bill for the film before I started using it and as a direct result used it more like trim that covering large areas ! That stuff is over £20 a 2M roll !!!!

New stock finally arrived today including the Fun Fly wing packs ! AT LAST - courier co mucked up and it got here a week later than it should !

All looks good though...

Johnny - you should not be disappointed.... these are along side the BEST two strokes Ive used...

Aye, thanks mate!! I'm sure to believe you. Unfortunately, info on the West 50 is hard to come by and I think it's one reason why it's overlooked. I'm sure it'll nestle quite right in the Capiche, tho! Any future ARF or ARC plans for the Cpch-50?

Thanks again and Happy Holidays to ALL!

don't expect high RPM out of it tho, i went from a 13x4 to a 12x6 and it just didnt rev any higher. it's happy on the 13x4 or 13x4W and thats about it.. you cant put it in a sport plane and under prop it for a few more revs, it's a torque monster and thats it, ported for grunt
mines been back twice, once coz the circlip jumped ship ( can happen to any engine ) second time coz the conrod that replaced the old in the rebuild was a Webra reject that they sent over anyway in a spares shipment. Weston have rebuilt and shipped back FOC everytime, great service. The West 50 is a great engine despite my bad luck.

Managed a couple of flights with the C50 today . Was just mucking around (still havent had that many flights, today was nos 6 and 7).

Starting to get the hang of it now. mixed 5% rudder to aileron, now dead upright on KE horizon to horizon. Will mix in a bit of down elevator next time to counter the little pitch coupling.

Had a go at high alpha KE on 3d rates . First time it snapped on me, but after that I started to get the hang of it. Basically I was doing a KE elevator into harrier. V messy, but another manouver I have not done before.

Also had a few goes at flat spins. Just basic upright ones, and started to get the hang of it. Been a long time since I have done flat spins, will take a while before I really get the hang of them. I have decided to practice flat spins before trying blenders again.

I'll try to be a bit more disciplined from now on and practise specific manouvers.

Merry Xmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU LOT !

SANTA HAS JUST DONE HIS JOB ROUND OUR WAY !

YS 63 and Saito 72 have been the best so far in the 4T race, but I favour the YS cos I can push the tank back.

IH always willing to do a YS Deal !

dimensions - 7x7x47............................ good luck !

Jeez Archie, shouldn't you be going to bed or else Santa might not squeeze that new dingo for the 140 EX that you wanted down the chimney.
We've already got our pressies, and Santa has been VERY generous. The Capiche still didn't come cause the wallet is on life support but I did hear it mutter the words 'capiche' so maybe soon.
Merry Christmas y'all.

got cracking on with it this afternoon. Looks good, formers 7-11 are not glued bu the rest are 'spot glued'. Looks great. Im finished for tonight tho.Only thing is is wen it was on one of my sofas i walkedpast it and the tail cought my trouser leg. It broke former 11 in half. Ill hopefully be able to cyno it back together tho.

on one of the first few stages it tells me to intenal chamfer somthing or outher. Can you tell me it means by this.

My Saito goes very good. However if you can afford 20% nitro I would change it for the YS.

Forgot to mention that I swapped the six oz tank for an 8oz tank as I was only getting 10 mins dead of flying. Now I can squeez in a few more minuts of fun

Keep up the good work Ed, glad you like your prezzie.

right at the very very back you have to fit the rudder post, sand the inside of the fuz sides here so you can fit some 1/4 balsa snugly inbetween the fuz sides.. not sure if theres a pic of that on my site or not

on mine i will be running a YS on YS 20/20 fuel. Allot of people say thet you need 20% (and i would agree as i wouldnet like to push my luck after wot welsh 3D did to his) as it is set up for the american market. About a month ago i spoke to CPLR on MSN messenger (i think it was him, or someone was pretending to be him) and he said it would ru on 15%, but thats only the 63, ig you get the 110 and the 140 you need 20%+

Is this the internal chamfer? i saw a pic on your sdite phill of somthin like it. Sorry for the crappy diagram.

hope you enjoy your capich as much as i am, and i havent even flown it yet[&:]

is that the fuz side you've drawn???? NOOOOOOOOO
do this, look from the top and sand the INSIDE of the fuz flat so it can accept the 1/4x balsa post. grahams build thread shows this pretty well.
in this pic you see the sides sanded and the blue 1/4 balsa in place.

pain in the ass trying to images right now as i'm formatting drives and my pic drive isnt installed.

I run my YS 120 on 15% without too much trouble, I did find the mid range a bit rough. I did improve things with tuning the regulator. Apparently the Japanesse only use 15% nitro fuel. I have also been told that CPLR uses 15%, but no idea if that is true or not.

With my 120 I will use 15% until I have used up the 3.5 gallons of prosynth I have got, then as I plan to get some more YS engines, I'll probably switch to 20%.

Loverly scheme jimbo, like it!

Well done on getting that capiche Edible! think that flip 3d will take the back seat once youve got it flying................

Saw someone wondering which engine to go for out of the Saito 72 qnd YS 63.
I am really pleased with my Saito but the extra power from the YS 63 would be welcome, but the extra fuel costs wouldn't!

As for the Capiche 140 i have gone the YS route hehe.

CPLR uses 30% home brew. Done loads to my capich today. From about 10:30 till about 6 o clock solid only stoping to have a quick morsel to eat. It looks good. IMO its just as easy to make this as a ARTF. This if more fun and gives you a kinda satisfaction.

Ive only used thin and thick cyno to build it. Even the wing bolt plates, i shall put some carbon tows on it cos i get parranioid. Heressome pics, the 2nd one is the back were ive put the chamfer. I hope its fight, its about 45* and not very deep. It isnt very clear in the pic of wot ive done. Im off to a shop tommorow to find some 'amnesia' of 'ammonia' (cant remember wot welsh 3D said, i can remember it was a desiese) to shape the fuz and glue it with some thick cyno. thisll be my first time sheeting, how do i do it?

the fuz is 8 1/4oz which i rekon is quite heavy, but i hope not.

cheers
ian

Edible

With all due respect I see you are not one for READING INSTRUCTIONS ![8D]

If you look at Phillys drawing, which is not necessary because you will see it quite clearly shown on your plan, you will note that the degree of chamfer you have applied is wrong. You are trying to make the inside edges of the back of the fuz paralell to take the fin post. with the angles you have its not parallel it is...or anything like the drawing.

Read the instructions and study the plan for the bit you are doing. If you had done this I would not have got the question about the M3 pushrod kit from you in my pm box... this pack comes with exact instructions. !! Now be a good lad and spent 30 mins browsing the instructions and the plans and you should not be able to go wrong.

I might have expected this from an adult who has had too much Christmas cheer but I figured you would still be abstaining at this stage !

Xmas went well this end but guess what - I didnt get a Capiche for Xmas... I was hoping for the 140 !

Good luck Ian......
