Awwwwww... I see... Thanks Rob.... Guess I'll order one, not sure when, I wanted
to get a prop reamer also.... Does anyone know.... Is it really necessary to get both
the standard and metric reamers... I know the Saitos are metric... But.......

raideron...Wow! 1/10 of an ounce! That's great! Let us know how much that increases hover pull out. I'm certain you'll see a noticeable difference.
I wouldn't mention this to others. If you ever start to compete that will give you an advantage that just won't quit.
I use a prop reamer. It's either standard or metric I'm not sure. I use it for all my engines. Some are loose and some are not. Works for me.
Thanks
Barry
PS: If the prop is a bit loose on the shaft, wouldn't that save a bit of weight also? Maybe a 1/100th of an ounce. We have to get it where we can.

gjeffers...Man, congratulations! First grandson. Now that's cool! I have 7 total. 3 boys, 4 girls. They are the joy of my heart. And their parents are also. Family is wonderful.
Keep us infomed. Hope everything goes well. With the grandson also.
Thanks

For the record. None of my 60s came with RH thrust. All of my 46s did. I added one washer of RH thrust to the 60 with the Saito 100 and two washers of thrust with the 110. The more power you carry the more off setting thrust you need.My Mayhem 40 needs more RH thrust. Has quite a bit already buy needs more. I have to hold 3/4 rudder just to keep it hanging straight. I'll try to dial a little more in to that thing when I get time. I purchase some Sulivan "thrust plates" to add thrust. Looks cooler than washers but I haven't tried them yet.
Thanks

mixmaster...The Ernst thrust plates also work very well for adding a bit of uptrust. You mentioned you might need some. I have plenty of up thrust and thought about sending you some but didn't really know how. The plates are the next best thing.
Thanks

I have one(granddaughter),she happens to live in my house,I love that little lap baby, she gives it back too. I used to have some thrust plates back when I flew nothing but 40 size, dont know what happened to them, think I cut them up for something? I just use washers now. I had to go fly after work & dentist appt. last night, it was dead calm. I did more in 2hrs of calm than a whole weekend of 20-35MPH. The Do really shines in calm,I actually got it to inverted harrier a little, thats been almost impossible up to now. I finally got it to pull up from harrier to hover without climbing much, I was on the throttle too much,I was at the hover setting before it was vertical. Now I just do a nice & slow throttle up from harrier,it doesnt take much, just a click or three. I did a few T/R a little lower, getting down to 8 ft or so,was so calm they didnt start right away, that was cool, didnt have to work the sticks so much at first. The only thing I wish I didnt have to do is hit the spoileron switch when it goes vertical to hover from harrier,I like to shut it off in case it falls out, those spoilerons can impede the pullout if you are in a bad way. I guess when I get it down good enough,I wont ever get in a bad position.

I just started flying my u-can-do .46 with an FS70. It's flying great. Had to tone down throws to smooth it out. Also added quite a bit of weight to the nose to get it to balance. Should be a fun airplane as soon as I have the courage to put the controls on full rates.

Hey guys, I got to get out and put in several hours of flying last night. Not much wind at all so it was really nice. I couldn't bring the Do since it is still down for repairs and mods. I brought the Funtana and Katana profile. I gotta tell ya. I'm not really crazy about the Funtana. I must not know what I'm doing or have it set up wrong or something. I can't wait though to get the Do out of the hangar and flying again. Definately a much funner plane to fly. [8D]

Hey Rob... Great that you got out in the calm cool evening... So you have a funtana 40??
I kind of miss not flying my V2.... I may have to try to put it back together....
Well the "Do" flew great, The washers helped, So it's staying in, and no more to be added
She did do one of my best blenders to a slightly rising flat spin
, Also did a dang near
perfect( In my eyes) elevator, it was into the breeze and she just came stright down wings
as level as can be, very little forward movement.. Another first
.. And
I pulled into
a hover at about 7' right in front of me, we had about a 15mph cross wind coming from my
back, I held it there and let the wind take her out about 200 yds, then into a K.E. Fun Morning
I even got to practice a few "crabbing/crow???' on my landings... On one of them.. I almost crabbed
it into the top of the fence[:'(].. Power really helps here
She still does seem to be vibrating more than normal, went through everything on her and
I can't find anything and all feels tight, and as far as I can do it, the prop is balanced, spent
the better part of an hour working on it..., It did vibrate a little less after changing the New 1st
run this morning APC14X 4W/T.T. spinner to a spinner-less Pro Zinger 14X4.... Heck I think
I'm just going to go with it now, sort of like my glitch.............. I think....
I missed the club meeting last night, and they raised the P.M. 20/20 to $19....
I may have to go to electric now................

Hey check this out. [link=http://www.centralhobbies.com/Engines/ys/ysengines.htm#YS%20FZ-110]engine[/link] The YS 110's are back in stock if anyone needs one. (63's too) Heck everyone needs one. But as Barry would say, don't tell anyone.

Flew today during a long lunch. Weird...When I was taking my plane apart I noticed a kinda oily residue over the top and bottom of the left wing. Had to use Windex to clean it off. Never noticed it before. Anybody else ever notice this?Had a great day at the field. Some outstanding flats spins and great waterfalls. Even got an extended hover or two. Tried harriers and KE and some low inverted passes. Had a great time.
Thanks
Barry

Barry..... Maybe you took the WD-40 instead of the glow fuel??? If so.. it ludes
the engine good, so it's no problem.. Plus if you wipe it really good it shines
Man....... Prop "hub" balancing......... &^%#! I should have stuck to my finger balancer[:@]
I keep drill/filling one side then the other..... Guess it's good in my case.... I can now remove
the nose weight I added for balance.... But I may have to go to a nose wheel setup soon
Ohhh I still have it

Well I got my repairs and mods done. It's a good thing I got to them too because there was some wear that needed to be fixed. I had planned to change out the Dubro valve and go with a fuel dot. Also I the cowl was coming apart at the screws so I was going to change that and add a velocity stack to the Saito 82. When I took the cowl off I found that it had been abrading the side of the fuse. It was wearing right through it. I filled it with some epoxy. I also found that the firewall was getting constantly sprayed with oil so the velocity stack should help that. And the fuel dot will make it easier to fill the tank. So hey! I'm excited to get the Do up and inverted again.
