Does anyone else's firewall seem to flex? I can move my Saito 100 up and down at the front more than I'm used to.If they are all like that I'm not gonna worry about it LOL.
Thanks,
Jason

Jumped back on mine tonight; glued in the horizontal stabs.

I hope to get it done this week.

i put in my order for one it should be here this week. r most of you running pull pull on the rudder.
I plan to use jr 8101 on every surface with a YS-120

I'm running a YS 110 and the rudder servo is in the tail.

I'm using a Saito 150 with the servo in the tail. If you can, mount everything except the rudder servo and check the CG to see where it works the best. I am balanced about 1/4" behind the recommended CG, and I used the battery pack to balance.

Your motor is a few ounces heavier than the 110, so I think you will need to go with the servo in the tail.

RE: Showtime

Hi,

Test flew my Showtime today... Saito 100, APC 15 x 6 prop, Hitec Digitals and pull-pull rudder setup. The
Showtime flew beautifully 2 clicks left and 2 clicks up, I flew on the recommended H9 low rates. The Saito
provided good power and hovered at around 1/2 throttle, although a 125 or YS 110 would be better for full
blown 3d I think.

Our local 3d maniac also had a flight and quite liked how it flew, hew could not quite get it to flat spin and
thought that the rates could go up somewhat. He also liked the power but said it could use a little more.

I will try the APC 14 x8 next week and see how it flies with that prop... I almost forgot she came in a around
8 and 1/2 pounds.

Cheers,
Flip...

Congratulations on your flight........You will like this plane!!!!!!

rcflip... Have you given the APC 16X4W prop a thought... That's what I have used
on my S-100 (not on the S.T., but UCD 46) and I liked it a lot better than the
15X6.....

Also, if it's available, try some 30% nitro in the Saito. They absolutely love that much nitro. I use Cool Power heli blend in my only Saito. Makes it purr like a kitty cat and gives it lots more umph!. The 16X4 is also a good choice

You are correct though. I use a YS110 with an APC 17X4 in mine (2nd one, dumb thumbed the first one) and it appears to be a perfect match

On your YS 110 try an APC 16.5 x 5

I had heard APC came out with them but never looked into them. I would suspect they are much better. The 17X4 gives great pull but the spool up is kinda slow so I must be way ahead of the plane. The 16X6 is a great match foir the engine but makes certain maneuvers difficult to do.

I'll look into it, thanks

I really can't remember right now as it's been a little while since I put a tach to it and had to send the engine back to YS to get a new head/ring installed since it dropped the exhaust valve

I do remember it turning the APC16X6 at around 8500 sloppy rich so it's a safe bet that it was close to that on the 17X4.

If I can get hme early enough sometime this week, I'll take it outside and fir it up and get you those numbers

RE: Showtime

what was your preference for the bird 6 or 4 pitch?

bubbagates 12-27-2005 06:42 PM

RE: Showtime

4 pitch, keeps the speed down and the thrust up. Made the hover pullout much stronger and veritcal from take off just keeps going and going and going....

Thanks... I have thought about that prop but it flies too slow with the 15 x 6 thats
why I mentioned the 14 x8... I am no 3d pilot though...

Ya really do not want to get this thing to fast. Those are some big control surfaces. That's another reason I went to a 4 pitch prop. The 6 pitch with the YS was almost to fast. I had visions of fluttering dancing in my head. Saw a Funtana90 tear itself to shreads on the YS110 with the 16X6 prop with a fairly new pilot at the controls because he did not heed the speed warnings.

I fly on the recommended low rate though...

maybe the 16 x 4 will be good if I want
to dable in 3d on the high rate settings...
