Xup, caught the 2 wheelers in Ireland a couple weeks back on Speedvision. Weeee!!!! Couldn't imagine reaching those speeds on what appeared to be a footpath. Do the sheep damage your flying field or just keep the turf in check? I must say, the cow incident at our field left us with nothing less than 'udder' contempt for their species. Sorry, I won't 'milk' this subject any longer, but in closing I would be willing to 'steak' a claim as to the cows being from 'jersey'. Good night all, Joe

I will stray off topic and back again here.
Joe the Ferrari is a beut, I believe it based on a the 512 BBi Boxer in race form, I was at Summit Point with the Ferrari club in a 328 GTS when we got passed by one at about 140pmh, fun n games.
the Ducati is nice, my pal has a 748 SuperLight, insane and Italian, good combo.
The Countach is a fake, nice kit though, looks decent.
I run with some well-to-do'ers, unfortunate I am not one myself. Pics of my best friends Lotus Esprit here: [link=http://www.hideinmy.com/trip/]Matts gallery[/link]
My UCANDO will go out again for the 3rd time with the throttle linkage problem fixed, I will post pics to show you how it was remedied.

Matt, good eye, the countach is an ARD. Almost ready to drive with a small block chevy pushing about 700 hp. Meticulate job however. Made quite a few magazine covers, one with a babe in a very tiny bikini, which I didn't really notice at the photo shoot. Joe

Thanks to Joe's info, it's going to be an easy job to lower the Tank one inch, tunnel will be smaller ,
by 50% but don't think that will be a problem.
Bulkhead will be lowered by one inch as well.

Xup, U are a natural UCD mechanic. If its made by the human hand, it can be altered by the human hand.
Matt, I just so happen to be putting the prop on now. 16/4 APC till I recieve the 16/6 and 17/4. Having taken care of the plumbing and throttle linkage and with a little luck I'll get out before training tomorrow night. I am close to the balancing act. We will see what that entails, could be a long night. Did I tighten the engine mount screws? Joe

Last nights surgery was successfull. To balance @ my preferred 5-1/2" CG required the 5 cell to be placed mid way down the fuse. As the only option, I had to cut a hatch, I hate hatches. The battery was too wide to just lay flat, so there was some engineering involved. Came out well, Joe

cumn thru,
Welcome to UCD Hatch Cutters. I've been flying my UCD 60 with the CG at 5 1/2 inches and it took a hatch cutting to get it there. It surprising how little effect moving the battery around in the radio compartment had on CG. I thought I was going to run out of fuselage before I got the CG right. My hatch in the bottom of the fuselage is centered 29 1/2 inches back from the wing leading edge.
I moved the CG to 5 1/2" and made engine thrust angle changes with hopes of making the UCD 60 do 3d as well as my UCD 46. It helped a lot.

I hate to mention another plane in a thread. But, after my crash I am looking at other options. has anyone out there compared the UCD to a Sig Mayhem 3D? I am very curious about how the two compare.

Rocketman, up untill this point the UCD, with a comfortable 5-1/2" CG, was attained by the 5 cell nestled in the rear of the main compartment. With the departure of the Saito 100 and the newly installed YS110, I found extra oz. to be dealt with, therefor the hatch at mid fuse. I'm happy with it. We will see how the ballast in the tail helps in hanging it.
Thanks for the compliments guys, we do have an image to uphold. Joe

No remote glo, no weight yet as I will have to return to the truck scale. Fill/drain via aluminum fuel tees and dots located on each side of the fuse where the tank used to be. Couldn't finish in time yesterday and hopefully will get out today against all predictions of rain. Joe

JW, wut up? We've all been awaiting your return. Like it??????????? Words cannot describe my delight and have only had it on the bench to date. Today is the day. Will be flying with a 16/5 untill I get the 16/6 and 17/4 to try. This is one sick hunk of metal, Once we smelled wood burning, I knew that I was in for a treat. With the nuts tight and locked, it managed to spin up faster than the prop would allow and that was just a 15/6. I feel that this engine will just leave the plane on the stip, or it may come back without MonoKote. Anxious to hear your spin on this regarding initial dial in and such. Got 3 tanks through it so far, today will bring me to 7 in the air. If the weather co-operates, the quick chargers do their job and the guilt of ignoring my work dosen't interfere, I may get back out tonight and finish break in. If not, tomorrow then. Enlighten me on your experiences will ya? It won't be long, LL is asking too many questions to not have one ordered by now. Joe
