Dutch,
I noticed that you are flying with the stock wheels. Go get yourself some super-duper ultra-lite foam wheels. There are a couple of brands out there. Believe it or not they will save you an ounce and a half! The lite foam wheels are 1/4 the wieght of the stock rubber ones. They are only about 5 bucks. This also helps with CG. It takes some wieght off of the nose so you can take some wieght off of the tail if you are using it, or make it more tail heavy if not. If you are tail heavy without wieght now, than never mind! Awesome photo's, and great heart felt thanks.
Same to you Twist brother.

JUST KIDDING! C'MON! MERRY CHRISTMAS, HANNUKA, ET. AL. HERE'S MY WISH THAT YOU ALL GET PLENTY OF AIR TIME AND THAT YOUR CRASHES BE FEW (BUT SPACTACULAR). I've been cleaning the workshop and I still can't believe all the good stuff I'm finding. There's got to be enough servos to equip a fleet of airplanes. See, it does pay to clean up the clutter.

Hey guys, I do not know if any of you guys is into aerial photography, but one of our club members showed me video and photo footage, made with this camera:
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...sin=B000AV14J0
(FYI..I am not affiliated with Target, they just happened to sell the camera here locally...
..)
He has the camera mounted in his fuselage. The camera is pretty minimum weight and for the specifications, good in price. (They have em for sale in our town for under a $100). From what I have seen on the computer, I am very impressed with his pictures and video!!
He took the video on a windy day, so the image is a little bit shocky, but still crispy clear. He has some nice music with it from Enya, and that sounded really nice with the video. The pictures were very clear and of good resolution, and the video was very good!!He has a 2 Gig card in the camera, giving him enough memory for a nice video. A guy in a town near by sells a lil' chip set for $25, that allows him to make pictures on demand, using his transmitter! This chip set is connected to whatever free channel his receiver has. Apparantly..he can set up the camera to take pictures like every 1,2,3 4, or whatever amount of seconds
..I thought I'd shared it with you guys. If anyone is interested, I can see if I can get the video so I can either put it up here or e-mail it to anyone who might be interested!
I'm planning on getting this camera and mount it in my T _ _ _ T to take aerial photo's from our housing area out of the pretty clear sky and from other places

That kinda reminds me....you guys know you don't graduate from a Dutch Highschool without having 4 years of English class?
That is mandatory.....
But then again...my English is good...it better be, being in a supervisory position

I just put two cameras on order for $6.99 each from http://www.aiptek.com/. Check page 3 of their on-line -catalog'.
I have no idea about the quality , and I'll probably eat through 2 AA cells each time I pull it out, but it looks small and light and I've read where you can short the shutter switch to fire it off instead of rigging a servo to press down on the shutter button.
Just thought I'd pass that out.

They made another option to activate the camera using the transmitter, but not through the use of a servo though.....

I don't know if any of you folks are electronic tinkerers, but here's a site that's worth knowing about. I believe there's a simple circuit project that covers the camera issue you guys were talking about. http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/gadgets/gadgets.htm Consider this a gift from me to you.

............so my wife decides that she can't pass up the great pricing on ham at WalMart and buys one for Christmas Eve dinner, right? Well, she generously dishes a slice for me to "test" with my breakfast..............well, you've all heard of green eggs and ham..................I had green ham and eggs! I'm typing this while perched on the throne, nearly doubled over with the pains of food poisoning! I think I'll be spending most of my holiday on the pot!
Moral of the story.........Walmart is a great place to buy cheap toilet paper, but don't buy anything that'll go IN the other end!
Merry Christmas, everyone.

Down..[
]..sorry brother....needless to say...I'm not jealous!!..Hope you get over it soon....
On the other token...are there any photographers out there that like to take pictures of RC planes??
I have a very good digital SLR camera but would like to get the max out of it while taking pictures of RC planes! It would be nice to share some experience when possible
I went flying yesterday. Although the temperature was chilly..there was very little wind and it was a blast to fly...at least...for me it was. One of my friends has a Edge 540 profile plane with a Magnum 4-stroke .70 engine in it! One hell of a conbination. What a beautiful acrobatic plane that is with super power!
Although my O.S 61FX had some trouble firing up initially, she did fine throughout the day, providing the usual power for my T _ _ _ T. Then my other friend...he had his brand new Carl Goldberg Tiger 2 plane for the second flight day...and crashed!!None of us had an explanation why he ran it WOT straight into the ground. He stated he had no elevator whatsoever, but the linkages were still connected and his servo was still functional...Here are some before- and after pictures for you guys...
I upgraded my starter to a Hobbico high torque one...my good ol' starter was not able to get the .61FX started through the compression..
I was due for a new glow plug igniter as well and found a nice XTM 2400NiMH igniter at the hobby store...
Very nice igniter. I'll keep you guys updated with pictures since I am somewhat lucky to be able to fly still here...

Down, sorry to hear about your food poisoning and hope you recover real fast. You sure it is the ham as there is a bug like that going around? Don't ask how I know.
Everyone have a great holiday and a healthy, happy, and T***T full 2007!!!!!

Dutch,
I am a professional photographer and do a lot of photography for guys in our fly club. Let me know what kind if infor your looking for and I'll see what I can do to help. Best reccommendation right now is high ISO (like 800) shoot your lens at it's widest apurture possible and have fun! If you get good, gou will have guys crawling up your a** (sorry Down, no pun intended) for picture on a fairly regualr basis. Doesn't bother me because I love to do it. I have almost as much fun shooting as flying. Well maybe not that much, but it is fun.
I've included a few shots I've taken over the last several months. The sunset shot is actually going to be in FlyRC mag next month in the "Snapshot" section.
Merry Christmas to all...and to all a good Flight!

Merry Christmas all,
DownT Also sorry to hear of the whoa's,,,, I hope everything came out alright. [
]My Wife also suffered a little getting sick Christmas night, But I think that was more from the Italian festivity of Sauces, Parms, Meatballs, Bread,, Etc..... over 2 days in a row, we hosted Christmas eve for her family, and we went to my Mom's for Christmas day,,, Hmmm,, Maybe the 8 or 9 bottles of Champagne had a little something to do with it as well.
.
Great Pics Jay, And keep those pics a coming, I am now officially living through All you guys, Maybe not, But my next 2 weeks are filled with other have to do's and I'm sure we will be snowed in by the 3rd week from now. We are suppose to get hit Today.
I've also decided I am going to go ahead and buy a New T_ _ _ T .40 I know its against all I stand for, but I just have to have this plane fresh and new again, I think 2 years of glue build up and bent and curved surface control planes are fun to fly but I think I want to see what I can do with this baby all fresh and new. I have a couple of build projects going , so I can stay busy with those, I might even go for the 61fx combo you guys all talk about so much and Give my Bipe her long awaited 70-4 stroke. and I am looking for a great Jet kit now. maybe an F-18 phantom or Stealth....
Take some Movies of the T_ _ _ T and post them here for me if anyone can.
