I cracked my twist in the middle and glued it back together then but some strips of fiberglass cloth with CA. Then cracked it in half again right behind that spot i fiberglassed. so i glued it back and added more fiberglass, and it's held up good sence. I'm not to worried about adding any weight with that magnum 91 up front. As far as my radio system i was using a futaba 6EXA with a standard futaba flight pack untill the 6EXA broke. Now i'm using my old futaba 5UAF. On my 6EXA the throttle stick resists upward movement. it goes up about 1/4 throttle and if i move it up more then that it feels like a spring is holding it back. anyone else have this problem? i sent it in a couple of days ago to have it fixed.

Fire- Sorry to hear about your Twist. [&o]Those pictures were graphic! [X(] DO YOU THINK IT WILL LIVE?

When you took off your covering were you able to save it?

Maybe the Easter Bunny can bring you a new Twist. The Twist does have Easter Colors and everything.[sm=bananahead.gif]

Trim it out. It won't help as is. Just ordered my first Twist yesterday. I plan to put a Saito 72 in it. Any suggestions on the build up?

Get rid of the 5 minute epoxy, except for the rarest of field repairs. Thinning it with alcohol or acetone? Do that only with extremely slow drying epoxies like West Systems, or 24 hr. finishing resins. Any time strength is needed, go for the 30 minute.

Have any of you guys tried to beef up that spot in the fuselage before assembling the arf?

Thanks,

Ernie

He could use silk instead of fiberglass. It's a lot lighter. But it's not as strong but it holds, i know from experience. I ripped the gear out of my 33% raven (composite) once and I accidentally used silk instead of fiberglass ( I didnt know any better) but the next hard landing I had hit hard as F**K, but all it did was knock it loose a little, but I still had to grind it all back out so then i used glass, I told my dad it aint coming out again! I was right, the next hard landing i had w\ it was a deadstick, i landed about 15ft too high, the gear tried to come out but all it did was pull the nose w\ it.
