I don't blame you. It is very frustrating dealing with them.

I have a question for any of you whho have built this Cub. I need a replacement windshield for my yellow Super Cub as the one that came with my kit was pretty cracked up. I have ordered one from Dave Patrick and has been the case for sometime now, they have no idea when they'll be getting more in stock.

So...........do any of you know if a windshield from any other kits will work on this model?

Thanks,

Dan

As of next month I will be waiting 1 year for my replacement windshield from DPM.... so don't hold your breath. []

I just hope all the bad service posts on the net warn people away from making the mistake of buying a DPM plane.

I would like to know more about your mods to the floats which looks great by the way. I tried finding the forum you mentioned but no luck. I was considering a float plane like the Byron Husky which I would have to build but maybe just getting DPM's white cub would be the way to go if I can get one. I surely would like to scale the floats like yours if possible. Any info on your mods is appreciated.

I just looked over the exhibitor's list for the 2007 Toledo Weak Signals R/C Show and saw that Dave Patrick Models will not be there this year. Who can blame him? It would be suicide.[]

Too bad about DP Models. I see he has taken on an editor's job at the AMA mag. I think Scale Flying. Does anyone know what's up with them? It could not be production problems, as I have heard in the past that his planes are made on the same line in the Chinese factory that Great Planes or another company has planes made, and they took precedent.

I just received my QQ Somenizi new 86" Yak 54, and they have another shipment backing it up, plus they are getting many more planes from the China operation.

DP Models has my CC on file, and I will leave it there, hoping some day to get the best looking ARF Cub out there.

Oh, I wish'd Great Planes or Hangar 9 would take over his entire line of products and ramp up production. [>:]

Wouldn't that be sweet. Then I could get some of the parts I need.

Someone needs to take over production. I got an Ultimate right before they "shut" down operations. Now if I need replacement parts I'm SOL. I already want a new cowl. Anyone have one?

Well, there you've gone and done it. You've opened our eyes to a real eye-opener of a cub from a reputable company. I guess this was the last nail in the coffin of DP cub sales. Would anyone now take a chance on placing a cub order from DPM with this beauty coming to market? I think not! Rock on H9!

Looking at the pictures, the landing gear, windshield, tail fairings look very much like my DP super cub items. Maybe they can be used as spares. Cant see much on the internal construction, but I wouldnt be surprised if this is a "CineseCopy"

I ordered my PNP 1/4 Cub, can't wait. I have 3 DPM Cubs on order, one of each of which I'll never see ever. Just don't understand why he doesn't post a update on his web site, just say I can't do it would be enough. Oh well

I wondered too about the similarity farmerric, the only way to verify is side by side because the DPM cub is supposed to have the super cub outline whice differs from the J3.
Or could it be he sold his design but still plans on making the super cub? Time will tell. I love my super cub.

Thats typical, take a guy who's company failed and did not fulfill orders and hire him to give advice in a magazine. Makes me want to renew my membership!. Oh wait, I haven't renewed in 3 years now. I wonder why?

Hey guys...don't you think this DP bashing has gone far enough. As the old saying goes...Don't be so quick to criticize until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
You really don't know his business circumstances, so your idle speculation is meaningless, and the negative comments are simply mean spirited.
Aside from his model business...Dave Patrick remains one of the premier airplane designers this sport has ever known. Add to that, the flying competitions that he has won over the many years and you get to see a much more balanced picture of the man. I think he's enormously well qualified to write a column in any periodical, and we are fortunate to have such a resource still available to us.

Hi All

Capt Jim, you're most certainly right about the bashing! However, as a business owner, you still have a responsibility. What I am trying to state, is you need to address to the people who have been loyal to you and those that have purchased, helping DP’s business flourish to what it was before “WHAT EVER” reasons to why it’s not operating today.

It’s understandable why people are talking; he needs to address the circumstances, so as the supporters will then have an understanding, and not speculate, and leave negative comments. Think about it, why leave a website showing different! Newcomers to R/C, stumbling across his website may try and place an order and not understand why a plane is not making its way to his/her door step….

Yes, businesses open n’ close across America daily, for “WHAT EVER” reasons, however, a reason is due!

Good Luck All,

Bob D.
