I'm very sorry to hear that Bud has passed. I bought a Pilot 1/4 scale Decathlon from him a few years back when I lived in Maryland just down the road from him. What an amazing scale model builder. He'll be missed.

Mr. Chao,
If I could make one suggestion regarding a revision to the earlier DPM Clipped Wing Super Cub, it would be to reinvent the process in which the wheel pants attach to the landing gear. Once the attachments break, there is no easy way to reattach them. I know they are not necessarily needed but they sure look nice. I tried to JB weld them but that would quick break so I just removed them and replaced the thinner wheels with some scale Cub wheel but it did lose some of its cool looks without the pants. Just my two cents. Thanks very much.

We will look into the process of attaching the wheel pants onto the landing gear. You are asking for us to study the longivity and the ability to repair of the attachement on the wheel pants side. I want to make certain that I am clear in understanding. Please correct me if I am wrong.
If you want, you can post pics or shoot us some pics of the problem that you are having. This way we can better prevent. We have to do this fairly quickly, because we are in the final stretch.
Peace,
Steven Chao,

I had this problem with mine. I ended up using a Dremel to clean back the joints and use a "Cold Weld" black epoxy that I purchased from my local auto parts shop. I think it's made by Locktite. It set super strong and is a perfect fix.

I mentioned a few weeks back that I was selling mine; well it's now on Ebay. Before you bombard me with emails, I live in Sydney Australia and it costs $1,000+ to ship to the US or Europe.
Here are some pics of it.
Some of the additional details include:
Covered in German Oratex fabric
Full aluminum cowling with rivets
Fake scale wing fuel tanks
Screws around all panels
All parts and stripes are painted in a durable car acrylic and clear coated
Fake door and window
Scale interior inc instrument panel, harnesses, headset, throttle levers and more
Scale exterior features, inc grab handles, entry step and tail navigation lights
Scale landing gear and tread tires (Robart)
Scale baggage door that houses on switch and battery charger

The SportCub is no where near the caliber of the Dave P Cub. Exposed servos everywhere......come on. Not to mention the outline of the AW S-2 is way off of scale. Now their Cessna 195 is beautiful!!!!!!!!

Update: March 8, 2010, CERMARK will do a preview of the new DPM Super Cub, PA-18, at the 2010, RCX Expo in Pamona, CA. Right now, we will not post any official information on CERMARK website. Please swing by our booth and let us know what you think.
Here is a quick Feb 2010 notes and pics on the DPM Super Cubs: [link=http://www.cermark.com/pdf/Up_Coming_Products_Feb_2010.pdf]CERMARK Up Coming Products February 2010[/link]

Wow Steven, Looks like you have done it. Congratulations on bringing back the finest PA-18/ Cub to ever be marketed anywhere. I'm sure you will reap the benefits. I might have to buy another to just put back.
Regards,
Scott

Looks great. I just gave up buying anymore planes this year as a swap for restoring a classic car; so now I'm torn on what to do. [&:]

If you have multiple models, do what I do and sell one to try and justify a new one. Works for my wife anyway. It also helps that I am home in the afternoon when the big brown truck comes, and she is still at work teaching

I already do that; justification is the way of life. Only problem is I chose to justify no more planes this year and spend $50K on restoring a car.
I feel naked as my hanger is almost empty. All I have left is what is in the attached photo, plus 1 Electrify Edge 540 and a 1/4 Scale HpH 304CZ glider. To add I'm selling my current DPM clipped wing and my 30% Extra 300L... soon I will have nothing

Been checking Cermark site often lately, nothing yet but pic and TBA. Been wanting the PA-18 for years. Was on the waiting list with DPM, as many others, when the bottom fell out. Not many of the purchased ones come up for sale either. Any new tidbits of info. would be appreciated Steve!
