I guess I'm "old school" but I plan on using my trusty Moki 1.8 on the nose of mine. FAI fuel is rather inexpensive, but not as cheap as gas mix. I will have to put a single rudder servo up under the cockpit area to get the weight out of the tail and use some sort of pull-pull. Battery will also have to be pushed a bit forward. I have found that a lighter plane always flies better.

Now all I have to do is find a suitable pilot figure before Patty changes her hair style again!

Wow man....sounds like you finally got one too!! I think it will be just fine with the Moki.

You know,...the last time I spoke with Patty ( a couple years ago)
her hair was dark, sort of brunettish,...but now she's blonde, I have heard that is her natural color but who knows,...tomorrow it may be red.

Yep, it's blond, but really short. A year ago she had long, flowing blond hair. Maybe she has a deal going with the folks that make female pilot figures?

BTW, I have a nice pilot figure on order from Model Graphics www.model-graphics.com.

LitePilots has some good ones too. www.litepilots.com

Denny is planning on making a vinyl graphics set to match Patty's "latest" plane, if he can catch it before it changes again.

Oh COOL!!!!

I need some pilots myself for my giant Fairchild pt-19

I will also need one for the Wagstaff extra 300 too.

When are the new decals coming out do you know?

I just unpacked mine. I agree, this is one BIG BEAUTIFUL plane. I weighed everything in the box. It added up to 10lbs. I will be putting a Fox 2.4 in it. Does anyone see a problem with a 2.4? I hope it will be enough power. Anyone who wants one of these better hurry.
Happy Flying, Joe

Hi Joe

You know to be totally honest, I was going to go with a brison 2.4 on mine but after reading the book for a few minutes, I would suggest going closer to the higher end as far as the motor is concerned,....so now I'm going with the brison 3.2....I want this thing to be able to tear holes in the sky man!!!!!

But yes I do agree with you,...GP has outdone themselves, this one is a keeper!!!

i have a brison 2.4 in a midwest extra at about 16 lbs. I use a zinger 20x8 prop, i suppose there are better props but it was available. Anyway this combo flies very nice and will hover at basically 7-8 throtle. If you want to do waterfalls and torque rolls you will want to get a bigger engine. If not the 2.4 should please you. A little more on props, Ive run a mejlick 19x10 and a forte' 18x10 which ohio rc, a former distributer of brison recomended. The zinger 20x8 WAY outperformed these other props. A menz 20x8 would be what I would try if I had one laying around. Something else to maybe consider. My midwest will not allow a 22"prop as far as ground clearance so the gp extra could be the same way, dont know? For my flying style I would want 50cc in this plane instead of 40 as I want to be able to do knife edge loops, torque rolls, well atleast try anyway.

Some VERY good points to consider BBflyer, I had a few questions about that myself and I will take all the input i can get at this point as I am pretty much just getting started in the gas scene.

Thanks very much for your input

Well not unless you have worked on this thing non stop since it just came out a few days ago!!....but I'm quite sure that it handles very nicely, I fly a Goldberg Extra 300 withan OS 1.08 on it, and it handles like a cadillac i the sky!!

I'm sure it'll be fine.

Mine's on the way (shipped this AM). I'll be putting the Moki 2.1 in it.

I hope Don's Hobbies in Kansas has a stock of 1/4 scale Patty pilot figures in stock. This plane will sell like hotcakes.

D'oh! Just called them. They are out of stock and discontinued. Talk about horrible timing!!! Waaahhh!

If anyone finds a Patty Wagstaff 1/4 scale pilot somewhere, love to hear from you.

She straightened it, too which make it hard for us non-hairstylists types to modify the current crop of curly haired pilot busts.

hey hattend

There's a place called crazypilots.com that makes custom pilot busts

That's where I got mine for my CGM extra 300, they are pretty cool, check it out, that's where I'll go for my Wagstaff extra too.

I went to SuperLite R/C and bought a 28% "Marilyn".

Blond Hair, looks real, all I need are some homemade sunglasses and it's Patty. (Oh, and then off to the beauty college to see if I can get the hair straightened and cut...should be interesting to see the look on their faces... hehehehe)

Mine is absolutely beautiful!!! that's why I started this thread to find out what everyone else thought about theirs.

Skypilot, you may have gotten hold of one of the "culls", it happens no matter how good the product, there's always a few that are not as good as the rest, I would send it back if you are not happy, I'm almost positive that they will take care of it for you.

By the way!!.....I was going to put a Brison 2.4 on mine but now it will have a Brison 3.2, I decided this after reading the manual.

So a VERY good choice in engines Mr. RC!!!!

Hey Man!!!! wow what a small world!! There's a flying field right there in Marymoor park

Just take 63rd street right off of Eastlake Sam and follow back to the park. I dont fly there much but I do when I REALLY want to fly and dont want to drive to where I normally fly.

But it's ok I guess

Here's my email if you want to talk about it more.

[email protected]

fly safe.

Allen.

Default GP Patty Wagstaff

Just got mine today and as expected it is beutiful. The covering is Monocoat and the cover job is flawless. The paint on the cowl is perfect the checkerboard patterns have gold trim between them it really sets it off. The hardware heavy enough for Moki 210 or mabe even 2.4 any larger I would use Rocket City Giant Scale for any bigger engines. The main gear is heavy duty and already painted white really looks good. The elevator and the rudder are plenty big for 3D if you choose to do so. I also have the W/M Patty Wagsaff ive been comparing them and so far the both are equal in most catagories except the W/M has Farrings on the main gear and a bubble cover on the inside of the wheel gear. They are both very well built and covered very nice. .
