Thanks. I have been checking the scratch and dent area at Tower...GMTA!

You never now..might be someone out there that ended up with some leftover wing panels. I am likely going to go ahead and order a new lower set, but thought I would check around here, first.

No luck in search for lower wing panel...went ahead and ordered a set from Tower.

The ugly rumor is that Tower has been out for 6-9 months and keeps putting the arrival date back one month at a time.....

I now have the retracts in hand and are gathering up servos and other items to start the build.

Other than the lower wing, all I need is my final choice of electric motor and ESC for the Staggerwing.

I still have a spare upper left wing, if someone needs it.

Tower is not being very helpful on telling me when the wings might be back in stock...they did not make the end of June as they were claiming earlier. Now the wings are simply "on order" and they either have zero information on when it will be back in stock, or they are unwilling to share that info with me, after swapping a few emails with them.....[]

Let me bump this up again and perhaps someone out there has a damamged lower right wing that would part with...I am a great rebuilder!

If not, I will proceed and when the only thing left is the lower right wing (and assuming Tower fails on the timely filling of the back order), I will simply clone one myself.

In the meantime..the search continues!......if anyone, anywhere, happens to see some spare wings in a hobby shop, let me know!

Ok, lets make this a little more interesting.... I am not above bribery/rewards....

I will offer a 20 dollar reward to whoever finds me a new or like new lower right wing panel and hooks me up with the wing panel owner, who is willing to sell it at a reasonable price. You get the reward when the deal is done on the wing. Reward wil be via paypal or check.

I will offer a 10 dollar reward for a lead that hooks me up with a lightly damaged wing panel that could be rebuilt fairly easily.

I will keep this offer open until July 20, unless I find a wing before then.....at that point, I will likely get out the balsa wood and start cloning the darn thing....

As you can hear the landing was not that good.
Bad filming, bad pilot, good engine.

Anyone using a Zenoah G26 on her? Thinking of a G26 or 38.

Thanks for posting the video. Have you gotten the plane back in the air? Do you have retracts installed or is the gear fixed? Please post some more video... and use a different camera man

Just read on this plane some more.....

I came across a Fuji Imvac BF-25EI ..... It is there 4-stroke engine..... on ebay....

WOuld you believe I could have picked it up for about 225$ Brand new?????
I looked at the weights, and though??? no way would I find a plane to place this engine in.....

It appears that I could have placed it in the stagerwing.......( being that it needs the nose weight)

It would most likely need more power, so I guess I made the right decision not to pick it up....

Probly have a 250$ paper wieght...

Hi!

It will certainly need more power. I have a Evo 35 GT2 on it and it's just right.

I agree, the 25 would probably leave you wanting a bit more horsepower. I've been really pleased with the way mine flies since upgrading to the Enya VT-240. Now if I could just get Lado-tech to send me my new retracts that I ordered back in SEPTEMBER!! [:@]

Indeed they do. I believe it's just the actuator that replaces the air cylinder in the Robarts. I'd know a lot more if I could EVER GET MY #%&@ing HANDS ON 'EM!!

I talked to the guys at Lado about converting my Robarts. They said it would be no problem. Just swap out the air cylinder for the actuator. They did say that they were awfully busy and it would take a few weeks to get them back to me.
I'm planning to send them off in a week or so.

I've been exceedingly disappointed in their response (lack of) and customer service (also lack of). I signed up on their website for email notifications regarding when the actuators I needed would be in stock and available. I received an email stating that they were in stock and placed my order within hours of receipt of that email. I received acknowledgement of my order on 1 October and confirmed that they had taken payment (through Paypal). Since then, I've been waiting... and waiting... and waiting... Below is a copy of the correspondence regarding the order, all initiated by me.

I've begun to wonder if you just forget the promises you make, or if you simply don't care. May I please have a new ETA for my now two month old order?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

Paul,

I am working on 5/8†actuator assembly for shipment, started yesterday and will be working through the weekend. I will give you an ETA of 1 week for shipment, if I can ship sooner I will.

Please understand it not that I am trying to ignore your emails or any ones emails. But we just swamped. Not to mention keeping up with production, expanding our shop and installing new equipment I am getting a ton of emails / phone calls every day with guys wanting information on our products or when we will have stock again. We basically stopped taking orders for the last couple weeks to get caught up. So until we get a better handle on this we are trying to do our best.

If the lead time is too long I understand and will give a full refund. If I don’t hear back I will assume the week is okay. Once again I apologies and will do my best to get this taken care of for you.

Thanks,

Doug

COULD YOU AT LEAST HAVE THE COURTESY TO COMMUNICATE WITH A CUSTOMER? WHEN WILL I GET MY ORDER? THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE LEAD TIME OR THE WAIT; MY PROBLEM IS WITH THE UTTERLY UNPROFESSIONAL LACK OF RESPONSE AND DISMAL LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE! MAY I PLEASE HAVE AN ETA (ONE YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY MEET) FOR WHEN I'LL RECIEVE MY ORDER? I'M SURE YOU'D RATHER RECTIFY THIS SITUATION THAN HAVE ME POSTING ABOUT MY CURRENT EXTREME LEVEL OF DISATISFACTION WITH YOUR COMPANY ON THE VARIOUS R/C FORUMS ON THE WEB.

THANK YOU,
PAUL

Paul,

Actually when I send that email out we already where in the middle of the pile of orders coming in from the AMA review, I was a little late in sending the email as I was out of town and had no idea that things would take off like that. I wanted to wait until I got back to send the email so I could ship orders when they came in. But when I got back we had already sold about 1 month of product in about 4 days! So unfortunately we were already swapped.

I will have your actuators out to you by the end of next week.

Thanks,

Doug

Thanks for the response and congratulations on the excellent review and the jump in sales. I understand volume constraints. I manage operations for two factories myself. I also understand and appreciate your commitment to quality and testing. However, I placed my order within hours of receiving the email that you sent notifying me that the items I need were back in stock. I seriously doubt that my order would have landed that far down "in the pile" but, of course, all I can do is take your word for that. I'd like an ETA with a bit more substance than "as quick as we can"... something with a date would be helpful, please.

Thanks in advance,
Paul

Paul,

I am working my way up the long list of emails I have to answer. After that review came out we sold 2 months worth of product in 1 week. Now I have a ton of people asking when we will have stock again. So sorry for the late response.

We are getting close to your order in the pile. Unfortunately we just are not geared up for this kind of volume. Quality is very important to us and every retract gets a full test just before shipping. This takes time. Sorry for the long delay, we will have your order out just as quick as we can.

Thanks,

Doug

I felt the same way when I ordered my Keleo exhaust for my TF p-51.....

I think that they are just trying to make you happy by giving you overexuberent delivery dates......

They just have to start telling there customers like Keleo does.....

" You will get it when I can get to it"
"Yeah, I take delivery on your money and then make the product, it states it on my web page!"
" You will have your product when it is done, right now you are on the next ten jobs to do, and I will let you know when I send it out"

It works for him.....

Lado is a relitively new company, they will learn there leason soon enough..... They will stop trying to please everyone, and just give it too you RAW!!!

Strait up and not stirred or watered down!!

-Side note.....
Not knocking Keleo, he just tels you like it is,,,, customers appreiate it, even though it isn't what they wanted to hear....

Thanks for the replys guys!......

There are just soooooooo many good buys out there right now on planes, I just wish I had more money to take advantage of it all!!!!

Every manufacture( Tower, QQ aircraft, Aeroworks, COX ect ect) has taken price cuts for there holidays (except Horizon, they RAISED theres, what a shock right??/)

Those prices on radial engines that saito makes are to the point of making anyone convert to gas..... Good luck on those price increase guys!!! 500$ increase on the 5cyl and 3cyl radial??? Get real!!!

Threads are winding down this time pf year, I just thought I would stirr things up!

Lots of luck with those LADOs. I spent 4 mounths waiting for my "In Stock" retracts for my TF P-51. Worth the wait? Yes! Just hope he gets his stuff together. I have a Stagger. that I would LOVE to put a set of LADO accuators on but I will wait till he gets it together.

Still waiting. He sent me an email on the 8th saying he'd shipped them USPS Priority. When I asked for a tracking # I then got an email on the 9th saying that he was going to ship them USPS Express and gave me an Express tracking number. The USPS website just says that they've been notified of a shipment but there is no data to indicate that a package has been picked up. He is now blaming his "mail lady". So now he's going back to the shop to see if he can build another set of actuators for me [:-]

I am looking into a engine. I want to go as cheap as possible. I am looking at the super tigre 2300 or the 3250. I do not know how much weight is needed in the front but if it needs a lot of weight then I want to go with the 3250, if not do you all think the 2300 will fly it? It is only .4 smaller in power than the OS 160 2 stroke, and from what I hear is that the 160 is more than it really needs.

That's probably advisable. They're going through some major growing pains at the moment. He seems a bit over his head right now. Hopefully only temporary.

Based on my experience, I think you're going to need the nose weight. If I remember correctly, I had to add 26 ounces of lead to the firewall with a Saito 1.70 radial. I'm now running an Enya 2.40 v-twin with the Rx battery pack (5 cell Sub-C) and the ignition battery (4 cell Sub-C) as far forward as I can get 'em and it balances without any ballast.

Yes, it'll fly it in a scale manner. Personally, I'd prefer a bit more power (G-38, US-41, Saito FG-36...)
