I finally got my new Magnum 91 4-stroke back from Hobby People. They replaced the piston, ring, sleeve and other things. I flew the plane for the first time yesterday. What a dream to fly!

First Flight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Co4JmuH4
Second Flight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViagLeqWi9o
Third Flight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jusk4OR2-Jo

I paid $199.99 for that motor, I see Hobby People is selling them for $139.99 now.

YouTube indicates there's something wrong with flight #1. Other 2 videos are O.K.

I think these planes are about 2 lbs. lighter than other planes of other manufacturers of the same sized planes, and mine flys real well, too.

It looks like it still doesn't work. It works fine from Youtube.

If anyone really wants to see it you can select one the the second or third flights and then pick the First Flight from the "My Videos" list.

Now I'm about to hack up the cowl.

I'm pretty much done hacking up the cowl. I'm installing the screws that hold the cowl on now.

Man that's some real fancy cutting! I can guarantee mine won't look half that good. How big of a hole did you make on the bottom?

That really is a puzzle. I get the same thing. I can look at the other two just fine. It does work when I go directly to Youtube though.

My mistake!!! I posted the pictures I took of the Hobby People 160 size T-28 I'm putting together now.

On my 60 size T-28, I cut a hole 2" x 2-3/4" - total 5.5 sq. in. Have not had ANY cooling problems with it.

I had a little problem. The throttle stuck on full. After a while zooming around the sky trying to run out of fuel, I got it unstuck and the motor stopped. I didn't want to land facing the sun, so I elected to land with the wind. I didn't want to try the flaps for the first time either, so I had to park it in the bushes. Not too much damage.

Just starting to build this plane. What a beautiful plane in the box.

Has anone built this plane with a small gasser? I have a 20CC Aerovate, weighing about 38oz, looking for a home.

I just like gas engines, if they are appropriate for the airframe.

Hello Kostas. That engine will be more than enough. For a 60 size plane it is VERY light. I have a 91 2 stroke and it rips through the sky. I only fly at half throttle and full doing fly bys down the runway. A lot of the guys it seems are running 71 Four strokes and have plenty of power left.

I will have to say that you really need to go back and read the posts about the plane. There are some modifications that absolutely have to be done. For instance change the front landing gear. The one that came with the plane is way to flimsy and the plane has a nose up attitude so it will take off way before you want to. So you have to change the front landing gear wheel to a smaller size and the rear landing gear wheels to a bigger size to give it a nose down attitude. I also highly suggest changing the mounting screws. I can't believe a company would even think that wood screws are a good idea for an engine mount.

Please feel free to ask any questions. We will be glad to help you out.

Oh thank's Joe!

Yeah
actually i always use my own Dubro mounting bolts for the engine mount and also replace the wing bolts with Greatplanes nylon bolts.

Do you have some pics of yours ?

Kostas

PS. I am really confused thought, because i also like the BH P-36A Hawk.Although little to no info is posted on this airframe![:-]

What type of pics are you looking for? That way, I am able to help you out better than just posting random pics.

Still flying mine! Had a gorgeous above average Oregon day yesterday (for this time of year) and I made 6 satisfying flights. Gotta love this plane. Dive for the field with slight throttle and full flaps. Ease in some up to level at about 1 foot off the ground, then cut throttle and grease her in on all 3 landing gear. Taxi back slow and steady, cut the engine, raise the flaps back up slowlike for the spectators, and GRIN!!! Jon

Hello Kostas. What is the U/C? As far as the covering and paint is concerned they are holding up great. The decals are doing great too. I am very impressed with this plane. I will have to work on getting some pics tonight if I have time but I will get some on here as soon as I can.

If you go to the beginning of the thread, I had taken a bunch of photos of the build process, many of the inside. is there something specific you want to see i will be happy to take and post here.

Been flying mine all winter here in Florida and the cover and decals are fine.
