Have you noticed they changed "Global Warming" to "Climate Change"...and "Spending" is now called "Investing".

Have a great day Commrads. [:@]

Yeah, I've noticed that too. We've been getting some cold and snowy winters lately and if you mention that to the people that buy into the global warming thing they say - "that's part of it". ?? [:-]

Man, you guys in North Dakota are getting the brunt of the winter storms this year. We keep on hearing how the Red River is going to peak 5 feet below the "1997 Flood of the Century". The city and province just finished doubling the capacity of "Duff's Ditch" around the City of Winnipeg. I live just out side the city, but we are well protected for floods.
Most of the major snow storms by passed Winnipeg and the surrounding towns. It was +42 degrees the last couple of days and tomorrow. My back yard is 1/3 melted away.

Pretty hefty door on the Man Cave. Isn't it backwards though? If it open inwards you loose space when the door sweeps open.

Yea, this has been a bad winter, hopefully it freezes every night for awhile else we are gonna flood for sure. Your right on the door, ill mention it to my dad and see what he says. Its a door that they were gonna throw away at dads work when they did all the refurbishing

NDK,

I was raised in Beulah. Floated out of Wapeton on two Red River Floods. Hopefully it doesn't get that bad. Nice cave you and your dad are working on. I recognize the weather real well. I have attached a couple of pics of my shallow and barren cave. I finished the walls about the time you started on yours. Then decided to start a my latest project. For all of those Old Air Force Guys "Why not Minot""Freezins the reason". The last pic is the solution to every build problem can be found.

unfortunatly no...theyre not. Each of them individually cut and nailed...thats alot of nails! Haha.

I hate North Dakota, last night it snowed about 4 or 5 inches and before that it rained quite a bit. So its sheer ice with a nice white coating. Flooding everywhere, i have been sandbagging for 2 straight days...

Here is a quick overview of what the bench layout may be.

The bench is going to be out from the wall 5'? Where is the door? My building is just about the same look and size of yours and man it fills up quickly, Just a wing rack takes alot of room. I have my door double doors then my bench is about 2ft and just runs along the oposite wall as the door (front to back) and a 100 size plane is hard to work around even if the wings are off in mine. It was a kit from Lowe's. I put a loft in mine for my wife's junk lol. But think they will look similar and are similar in size. Good luck and really really hope the dykes and dams and all the sandbagging holds up for you folks. Good luck.

the door is on the far left side. I was thinking that part of the bench that is 5' will be movable...its just a rough sketch i thought up. How do you store you aircraft? Thanks for the encouraging words regarding the flood...we are very fortunate that our house is safe. Many people are in need of help, its good to see the whole community out to help their neighbors.

NKD I hang most of my planes by the prop. Just run some string and make loops around your joists then insert the props and let the string slide up against the prop hub. Found this is the most room saving way for me. There is a pic of the building on page 5 of this topic. Hope the weather there gets better for ya'll. I have a niece that is in Nebraska with her husband working right now and they are not having it so good either. Would put the pic here but went to do so and my RC folder said file empty got to find out where my wife moved them lol. She is a whiz with this pc and me i am pretty much go here and a few other car sites and the racing fourums and that is about my enitre knowledge lol. Anyway good luck and just remember they fill up fast. Espesially when they were supposed to be the the wife's persoanall storage bldg. She lost all but the loft lol.

Alright, its been a long time since any progress was reported. We have it completely shingled, and enclosed. That is as far as it is going to be for about 2-3 weeks now, as my dad is outta the country for that time. I will post pictures probably tomorrow if i get the chance. I am posting updates as fast as they come so hang in there! It has been warming up alot lately here, Summer is on the way..finally.

Here are my man caves. I keep most of my planes in my workshop out back, but I keep my "hangar queens" in a spare room in the house. I'm running out of room[]
