I do agree, it is still a good buy and at the sale price it was a bargain. The only reason I didn't order the cowl was not the price but the mistake and I can live with it for $34 bucks. I've already spent about $60 on wheels and a Alum. spinner and misc. hardware so, I'm at the $229.00!!! The cowl fit fine after I added a piece of ply on the bottom of the firewall to attach to and have the correct angle.

Hi guys if you will go to the website Super Cub.org. there are multiple pics of full scale super cubs. They all seem to have the same type cowl that is on the Model Tech that juts out on the sides. I built the EP version so I didn't have to make any modifications. TAPA

hey no problem man

i just wait on my fiberglass spec cowl to come in,i think she will look alot better ,if the 13/4 flys the way you like then fly it ,i have a 14/4 on my magnum .51 xls,and had no problems ,i have about 20 flights on it ,and about a 100 take offs and landings [they are my favorite] ,i love the way she flys with the big prop ,it acts like a climb prop on full scale pa-18 ,will post pic when my new cowl comes in

im trying to make scale gear ,but having trouble ,i think ima have to shell out 120

it first depends on size of SD card and type of camera , full video or pictues Ect Ect Im sure you know these things

what shot you want to get ,for me I may try to get an air to air shot of my kids mustangs
I might make a box to put my camera in for a full video ,other club members have a servo to turn there camera on and off

on a side note I did strap a go pro camera on my Slow fly Cub video came out poor with alot of noise and the camera cut off after first turn [:@]

our club had our field fix up day for this year was great to get to the club again ,may take me a couple of more weeks to get things ready cant wait !!

Hi,

I've set up mine with an OS 72 FSa all ready to fly and I've had to add about 200gr stick on lead weight to the engine mount to get the CG at the recomended position. Did any of you guys have the same problem with balancing the cub and added so much weight?

Thanks Dave,

but I can say that I'm still troubled since my engine is 0.7 oz (20 grams) heavier than yours so that makes your net additional weight 1.8 oz (50 grams) which compared to my 7.1 oz (200 grams) is alot less. Should I be troubled? I've already strapped my rx battery to the inside of the firewall and have no other components to shift forward.
Maybe I'm making too much of a fuss over it, so I might as well live with it.

I had the same weight(CG) problem with the first fuselage on my super cub it took almost three onces on the fire wall.I got a new fuselage and with the same magnum .91 four stroke in the nose it balanced perfectly and I used the old wings.maybe it was the wood used. But to go from three onces on one and nothing on the other makes you think mmmmm!

Hello, I have a model tech 1-3 scale J3 cub. Thinking to install on it the new OS GT 55 gas engine but want to fly a cub not a rocket. What do you guys think about the Saito FG-36 gas engine???? Does it fly well or will be under power??????
Thanks,
Alex
