Elevator Radio Set Up

I need advice on how to do an elevator set up on a Revolver 70.
I bought the plane used and trying to get my radio set up. The elevator has to individual servos for each side of the elevator.
I have a Spektrum DX6i DSMX 6 that I bought from hobby zone where you got the free RX.
I am not sure how I connect the two servos up to the RX and need advice.
I tried a Y splitter much like you use for Ailerons but that does not work as the servos face each other that one goes one direction and the other goes the opposite.

A reversing Y is an option for you to consider.. works like a standard Y but has been modified to reverse one of the servos for an application such as yours..<br type="_moz"/>

You can reverse a servo if you want. All you have to do is switch the two wires going to the motor. I don't have that radio, but if it allows you to set up a mix with either ch. 5 or 6 and one of them is available, you can do it that way also.

Connect one elevator servo to the ELEVATOR port of the receiver. Connect the other elevator servo to the GEAR port of the receiver.
Program the following mixes. After programming the mix you may have to reverse either the Elev. or Gear servo and adjust the rates up or down to match.
Mix 1 – (This disables the Gear Switch on Transmitter, This also allows proper elevator to gear mixing… without this only the down side of servo works.)
Gear Mixed With Gear Activate
Rate Down -100% Up -100% (Important has to be negative values)
Switch On Trim Active
Mix 2 – (Mixing Gear Channel with Elevator for Dual Servo Elevator – Using less than 100% to match the surfaces in the down and up positions.)
Elevator Mixed With Gear Activate
Rate Down +96% Up +96%
Switch On Trim Active
Program the following mixes. After programming the mix you may have to reverse either the Elev. or Gear servo and adjust the rates up or down to match.

Years ago before there was servo reversing!
With a Y chord we simply turned one servo around in its installation that way it would effectively operate in the same direction as its twin on the other side.

Using these settings both elevator halves are working but the one connected to gear is still not aligned and if I hit the gear switch 0 to 1 or 1 to 0 that elevator half still moves as if it was the Gear switch is still active.
I don't think that is correct and wondering how I resolve it?

Isolve this issue with an Equalizer II from Smart-Fly. It is much more sensitive to fine adjustments than my 9C was able to achieve.

That won't do it, even back then! Rotation direction wouldn't change in your scenario.

I have two models that stagger them. One servo mounted higher on one side of the fuselage than on the other; so that the axis of control rods is the same for either side.

Good information but please share links to the "matchbox" and the thread for the larger revolver. I will search in the meantime.

I use them when there are 2 servos on one control surface like in larger planes with 2 servos on each aileron. You can also use them when you run out of available ports on your receiver or mixes on your radio.
