The engine is gone. The post office gets it in the AM.
I gotta say it. I don't think the USPS big planes are gonna fly well on just one

Well.... finally finished the rebuild of the Tiger 2 that Keepiru traded to me... here's the final build... keep in mind that both the vertical and horizontal were taken off to ship it and they managed to get smashed up a bit in route... requiring a scratch set be made: More pics can be seen here: [link=http://www.rmhwebconsulting.com/tiger2/]Tiger 2 pics[/link]

looks real good to me, bud and I'm glad to see someone getting some use out of it. Is that before or after the maiden you told me about?

After. The 1st flight after overhaul was last Saturday... managed pretty well in the 20-25mph gusts.

This is marwen. I am a moderator in the DIGITAL forum.

I have a 100% full digital editing application called ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 1.0

It is an older program but it is equivalent to at least PS 6. It is compatible for PC or MAC.

The serial number is also included.

When I bought hardware, this CD was also included. I have no reason to believe that this software has ever been registered. At the time, when it was new, it had a retail value of around $99 or so.

I have tried different versions of ELEMENTS when they first came out about 5-6 years ago and the only difference between this and the full PS application is that you can do EVERYTHING that you can in PS except you simply do them differently. All of the filters acually show you what the effect will look like prior to applying them. Finally, there is a FULL PDF that has a printable manual inclusive.

This one is on me - ENJOY!

Thanks Bill... as for the Sukhoi... you really think you'd get it back? Seriously... that was really quite a learning process for me. I've never uncovered an airframe before... let alone cover one. This was actually my 1st complete covering job.

I am afraid this is a bit of a sob story,

I recently discovered that my cancer has spread to my liver and the Doctors are now giving me 2 yrs. tops with treatment.
Because of this i am forced to try speeding up my plans for building my first plane, I was planning on doing it next winter.
My Mother has agreed to purchase a [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0161p?&I=LZ1184]Rapture .40 Kit/Tower .46 RC Kit [/link] for my birthday and I think I can scrape enough change to upgrade to the ABC Engine Combo.

I guess I am looking for all other materials and help in building this plane I can get.
I also guess I need to get a list together of the things I need? Perhaps others could help in this matter since it is my first build.
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0161p?&I=LZ1205**]Here is a link for the supplies Tower[/link] says I need, does this cover everything?
I do have a JR Quattro transmitter if that helps.

Other than my wifes part time check we have not seen income for over 6 months and S.S. starts in April. So money is an issue.
I'm really thinking it would be good therapy to have something to do with my hands at this point, I need some diversion.

A couple of months ago I purchased a ready to fly Alpha 40 as this has always been my dream to fly and build planes since I can remember. I have yet to fly as the weather here in WI is not cooperating. Also I still need to find a instructor but I do have a couple of leads on that.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I am hoping you can help me with my dreams.

Hello
I am new to RC flying, and finally obtained a Goldberg trainer and a futaba radio in a work trade. The plane needed some repair which I have completed. I have a limited budget; I’m a carpenter with a young family. Each week I spend a little on the hobby. Repairs, club dues, batteries….. The major thing I am lacking is an engine. The Plane takes a .40. If anyone could help me out I will promise to pay it forward some day
Thanks
Joe Crecca

I think I can send a few items your way. Course if a good .46 AX fell into your hands it would be great.

Keep your chin up, its easier to watch your plane that wayz!

Another noob pilot here...

Got my hands on a Sig Midstar .40 with engine and electronics and got a radio from a friend at work. I've been asking around and consensus seems to be that I should start with a trainer and not the Midstar. After playing with Realflight G3 at the hobby shop, I tend to agree... Only problem is, between school and bills, money is about as tight as it can get now. I was hoping I could start with the Midstar, but there's no point if I'm going to make toothpicks out of it my first time out. So, if anybody has a trainer airframe in decent or repairable condition, I could really use it. I've already got the engine, radio, etc.. out of the Midstar that I could stick in there.

Thanks again. This is a wonderful idea you've got going here and I hope to be able to contribute.

Ok, lets see. I have these items coming your way at the end of the week:

an 8oz fuel tank

some fuel line

a cple of A3 glow plugs

a MAS 10-5 prop

a 2 1/2" white spinner

and a plastic(gun)TX Case.

anyone else go over the list and give it a whirl!

BTW, this wasnt a post to show off, or what ever. I wanted everyone to know what I was sending, so SM doesnt end up with 10 fuel tanks and no wheels. Or 7 props and no fuel tank.

Here is what we ordered yesterday, I was able to purchase more than I hoped as my brothers threw in some money for the project. Which means they will probably fight over it when I'm gone.

Tower Hobbies Build-It CA Thin Glue 2 oz.
Tower Hobbies Build-It CA+ Medium Glue 2 oz.
Tower Hobbies 30-Minute Epoxy 4 oz.
Tower Hobbies .46 Ball Bearing ABC Schnuerle & Muffler
Great Planes Rapture 40 Kit
#1 Blade Handle w/#11 Blade & Cap
#11 Blades (100)
Tower Hobbies Custom Sealing Iron
Tower Hobbies Deluxe Heat Gun
Top Flite MonoKote Hot Sock Iron Cover
Top Flite Hot Glove Covering Tool
2 rolls MonoKote
2 rolls TowerKote
Fuel Filter

Because of the help from the family I was able to use my funds to buy a Hitec radio setup 4 ch on Ebay last night for $100. It is missing servo horns however.

So, I guess I need servo horns, wheels, Threadlocker, a 10 x 6 prop for engine breakin. Foam.
Anything I am missing?

Thanks SoonerAce and everyone else for your help
Jim

Edit: just got the fuel filterand some 10 x props. Still need a 10 x 6 for the break in.

I suggest using an 11x5, 11x6 or 11x7 not only for break in. but for flying also. A 10x6 does not have enough "resistance" (I guess that is as good a word as any) for the engine and the engine MAY over rev with that size prop.

I have had several different 46 engines (and still have most of them ) - Tower 46, OS FX, Evolution 46, Super Tiger 45. Every one of these engines performed best with an 11x5, 11x6 or 11x7 (for general sport flying )

Campy,
No offense intended, sir, but I beleive you're headed into personal preference land....I've had almost all the OS .40-46 line and Super Tiger line in the last ten years and I have all of them (except what I've given away on here) and ran all of them with 10 x 6 Master Airscrew props or APC brand. On occasion I've moved up to 10 x 7 but that was availability and a good deal....not air worthiness related. Just my opinion and I've been known to be wrong before.....*LOL*

Skynryd Man,
Three 10 x 7 and 2 10 x 6 Master Airscrews headed your way, dude! Enjoy! Turned out I had more than I thought......life's a ***** when you can't see and can't count...you know? *chuckle*
