electric starters are for pansys anyways ;-) I've been using the old ruberized toothbrush for nearly 5 yrs now and i've never had to charget the battery once! I DO have a starter . . . but i find it a hassel to use as all my engines genearlly start on the first flip! Proper tuning is the key! :-)

well, i have been reading these posts for awhile now. must be contagious. i hope i do this the correct way. i have a o.s. 61 two stroke engine, with muffler and mount. also has prop nuts. i got the engine on a trade with some other stuff, so i dont know its history. appears to have good compression though. as stated in a previous post, if you email me and let me know why i should send you this engine, i will send it to you, and i will even take care of the shipping charges. sound ok.

Wow!! This place is the best!

Well here we go, I just bought an Avistar 40 used from someone in the club I just joined. I'm so exited about getting into this hobby!! I have almost eveything I need, including the feild box and all that. The only thing I don't have yet is a glow starter. If anyone has some extra glow starters collecting dust I'll GLADELY take one!!!

Thanks,
Ben

OK....I am sorry about the typo.....I have a OS FP.40 and a OS FS .45 .......that was made by inserting a Magnum .45 sleeve into a FS .40 case which was a tight but exact fit. Both motors have been check run.......and all was well. Iceman can attest to my motors as he has one of mine that I repaired. Now ladies and germs....all I want is the shipping cost however if there are extenuating circumstances then, by all means, lets talk. There was one guy out there who pm'ed me and needs to again after reading the above line.

If you need a 61 engine let me know, and tell me why I should give it to you.

Engine specs:

.61 Mutunuc engine w/muffler and 5/8" muffler spacer/extension (Tower part
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=++&search3=Go

This is an older ABC, Chinese (Taiwan ? ) made engine. The only thing it needs is a prop nut (I can't find the original [&o] ). I had the engine on a plane and swapped it out for a Thunder Tiger 61 (saved several oz in weight ) I picked the engine up last year with a bunch of stuff at a swap meet. The engine appears to be low time, has excellent compression, runs great, very good transition/idle and has the original box and some of the original instructions.

The engine is heavy. The engine and muffler weigh in at about 23 - 24 oz.

I dont know if this is where you post requests in the pay it forward but if it is I was wanting to get into 10thscale touring cars so I got an HPi Sprint. I really cant afford to hop it all the way up. A friend of mine gave me a cryptonite 9turn double but I dont have a way to get a ESC to handle it. I would like to get the one way diff for the front too. This is really all I need and I am willing to pay what i can come up with for either. If anyone can help me out Iwould appreciate it

Hello all,

I am writing because I made a mistake. I bought a kit before doing any research. The kit I bought was a sport plane not meant for a beginner such as me. I have been working a lot on putting the kit together. After reading much of the information available on this site, excellent site, and talking to the club members in my area, I have realized that this kit is not what I need. As a result, I found someone who has offered a trainer plane. I am a graduate student and spent about all I had on this kit. The one thing that I have not been able to acquire is an engine for this trainer. I am not sure what size of engine would work well, but it is a Sig Kadet. I have just about everything else that I can take off my other kit. If you have something that you think would be able to help me out, I would be happy to help in any way I can.
Thanks,

J

So you just have the Kadet? Would a .40 size motor fly it?

I have a brand new OS40LA engine that has never been run or even seen fuel. I would like to give it away to someone less fortunate than me. There must be someone who is just beginning or is down on their luck who would like this engine. Please post hear why you would like this engine. I will ship it (free shipping) on the Ides of March. I might even throw in a prop or two.
Thanks,
Barry

Keepiru1,
The Kadet is coming. My friend will be picking it up from his parents home this next week (spring break). It looks like a 40 size engine would be perfect.

Hey folks. Im attempting to get started in RC airplanes, but being a student in college, its tough to scrape together the cash. Just some info about me, Im going to Western Michigan University, and am a Aviation Flight Sciences Major. By graduation I should have my private pilots license along with a an instrument rating and a commercial pilot license with multiengine, complex, and high performance add ons, as well as my Certified Flight Instructor license. As of right now I am just a few hours of flight away from getting my Private License, as I have been for the past couple weeks (darned weather). Last year was my first attempt to get in RC, but I quickly ran out of funding, and sold off what I had to my cousin.
Since I am now constantly back in the presence of aircraft the idea of getting an RC plane has re-awoken. Since I have flight fees of 8000$ per semester on top of normal tuition I have been doing everything I can to get equipment from other people I know, Its surprising how many aviation students have RC aircraft, where do they get the money??. So far I have been able to acquire everthing short of an engine and radio equipment. I even got an old trainer from one instructor who told me I was free to destroy it at will. Ive also been offered training by a couple of the flight instructors out here
So anyways, Im here to ask if anybody has radio equipment (Transmitter, reciever, crystals battery packs)
