Grrrrrr! My digital camera bateries are dead! Otherwise I'd post some pics of the model I built (LS150 based *LOL*) Still need an engine though........Don't think a .049 is gonna get it on this one as all I have is std servos and 2000 mAh battery and 7 channel recvr. Am going 2 ch. maybe 3 if I can get a throttled motor........Help me out guys....I'm dying here! *G*

There seems to be a lot of back and forth communication between members in this forum that is not directly related to the spirit of the "Pay it forward" theme. I think posts within "Pay it forward" should be short and sweet like this is what I have if someone needs it and this is what I need if someone has it. Those who do have stuff have a difficult time going through all the posts looking for needs. The post should be simpler and less of the back and forth small talk that could be better done with a PM.

I would like to make a suggestion for all the members posting in "PAY IT FORWARD". If you have a need for something then post your request in the color "RED". If you have something that you are looking to give away then post it in the color "GREEN" This would allow members searching the post to quickly identify a "have" or "want".

Just a suggestion.

Ice, Glad to hear it.....Glad to hear it.....did you mount the pump with the big bump out? You have to to let that diaphram get air into it. Other than that keep us all abreast of it, bud. It should run great!

Hello all,
Sort of returning to RC Planes after 15 year absence. My last plane was a scratch built Russian flying Boat. Spent all my money and time on her. Flew two or three times then joined USMC. Plane, engines, radios and all my RC stuff was permanently borrowed by an unknown person while I was in Boot Camp. Enough of my sob story, I now have three boys who love airplanes and I would love to get them into the hobby. Problem is of course $$$. Working 40+ a week is barely enough to make ends meet as a Quality Assurance Inspector for a major Corporate aircraft repair center. I finally got the ok from momma to get plans for a Sig Kadet Senior and will hopefully spend the winter scratch building it with my boys. Would love to find someone who has a good radio set 4 channel and a solid four stroker .30 to .50 for this project. I think this forum is an excellent example of the quality of people in this hobby.

Any help would be Great.

Hey guys this is a great idea.
I have an Avistar with 2 wings, one with dihedral and one without, both wings are glassed. Im also including a O.S.40 LA that runs awesome. I have an extra blue .40LA if anyone needs it. Im getting a computer radio so I wont be needing my Futaba Skysport 4 anymore. I do not want to ship, NYC only.

John

The extra .40la goes to Spaceclam.

OK I have a honest request for you guys.

I have a friend, his name is Russell, who was in a dirt bike accident about this time last year. His neck was broken and he is paralyzed from the waist down and only has very limited partial mobility in his upper body. He has no sense of feel in his fingertips but he can move his arms and hands and has some feeling in the beefy part below his thumbs. He is confined to a wheel chair at all times. He is a married man in his mid 30s. He obviously cannot work and his lovely wife must stay home to care for him.

Thing is, He is also a VERY good RC pilot, and was beginning to compete (and win) at pattern last fall before his accident. So far he has not been able to fly due to his accident, at least not yet. But he is wanting to try again really really badly. We have talked about finding a way to modify his transmitter sticks and or mfg a platform that we can sit on his wheelchair so that the can fly. Im not sure that he is realistically ready yet to take the sticks even on a buddy box but he can work on a simulator as long as he wants to sit and try. Last night he and i got online and I showed him some videos of Aerofly Pro Deluxe and he was pretty excited about it,

What I was wondering is if anyone might have a complete flight simulator setup they could donate for him. I would like to see him get Aerofly pro at least but if not that then at very minimum G2 with the complete setup. I dont mean to be picky but I would really like an original version in good shape so that he has a quality tool to work with. This would be great for his mind and body by allowing him to get back to his passion, which is honestly RC flying.

If any of you have upgraded and have a slightly used copy or know how we might get ahold of a copy for him that would be so great. You guys would get the credit, Im just the messanger. One of the latest and greatest would be even better but its not a must. If we could just get a good solid setup that would be super. Ask around and see what we can come up with if you will.

I dont want make him to feel uncomfortable, he doenst even know Im doing this. So Im not going to try to prove Im telling the truth, you are just going to have to trust me on this one. But if there is anything any of you can do to help I think it would really make this guy an extremly happy camper and I really think it would be a great rehabilitation tool for him and maybe lift his spirits a little..

Sincerely,
Mike East

Clam,
As with most kids you probably think you are immortal, you arent little buddy. Be extremly careful.
The other night when Russell and I were talking one thing he said was "if I would have ever dreamed I would have actually broken my neck riding my motorcycle I would have quit a long time ago." Those words spoken by a 33 year old man, great words of wisdom for those who have not been injured..... yet.

BTW- UPDATE!!! "Someone" has donated a complete realfight G2 setup for Russell, USB controller and ALL!! Should be in the mail and headed our way Monday morning!!!!!

Thank you blenderblender ,,, and thank you RCU for this most excellent place for good people to come together and do some really great things!![sm=sunsmiley.gif]

I hope God really blesses you for your kind gesture.

Well this is a "want":-) but I guess I don't "need" post:-) I wanted to
put my Avistar on floats to join the guy's at the lake... But the $$$$
I was going to use is now paying the "bosses" Doctor's/Hospitals bills
was just going to wait until next year but thought I'd ask here....
Anyway, Anyone have a 40 size float set that they are willing to
part with at a good price?
It will be put to good use...:-) Thanks
I also have a used Tower 40 engine that may be able to go to a new
home if I can get my FX running again.. Well found my problem with the
FX after taking the tank out and removing the Carb. and finding no problems,
then as I was going to remove the engine I see my problem.. kinked inlet
tubing to carb.... DUMB...DUMB and DUMBER.. Guess I was trying to
make my problem bigger than what it was:-( Shees........ Anyway the
Tower 40 can go to a new home if needed.......

Engine is gone... taking by the clam!! Still need Floats:-)

Hi I am new to RCU, and to flying. I have two kids and at the age of 22 am trying to get on my feet. I am not a charity case, but as I am sure too many of you know.... money is tight. I am looking for someone whom has a extra kit laying around that wouldn't mind selling it cheap. I have my trainer but am ready to move up a couple of steps. I swear it will not be resold and will be built by me. If you can help e-mail me @ [email protected] thanks and Merry Christmas!
